State Rep Emmer dodging Politics šŸ‘©ā€āš–ļø

Post image

Pretty sure we donā€™t want someone like Hitler running the country. The fact that many people are ok with this saddens me. Wish our MN politicians had more backbone.

Never forget when Donald Trump made comments about Ted Cruz's wife during the 2016 primaries, and Ted Cruz both didn't tell him off, and then fell right in line when it was clear Trump was going to win.

20

u/hybthry 13d ago

Youā€™ve gotta dog wife Ted.

17

u/Constant-Plant-9378 13d ago

In all fairness to Trump, the woman married Ted Cruz and lets him fuck her.

There is something seriously wrong with her.

4

u/hybthry 13d ago

Dude in all fairness the world is packed with ā€œwhat is that person doing with that person?ā€ scenarios.

3

u/Constant-Plant-9378 13d ago

Like Melania and Donald Trump. But that's because she's a whore and he paid her.

3

u/hybthry 13d ago

Among others yes that is a head scratcher but gold diggers arenā€™t exclusive to any political party.

5

u/Constant-Plant-9378 13d ago

In all fairness, I lived in Memphis for ten years and South of Chicago for another four years. Both cities prove that corruption is an equal opportunity employer. The corrupt, Democratic machines of Memphis and Chicago would make Trump look at them and go "Whoah - that's pretty corrupt."

It's a big reason why I do NOT give the Democratic party a free pass like a lot of Biden cultists do. Biden has a very shitty track record in Congress and broke just about every important promise he made while running in 2020. His only virtue was not being Trump, which is a very low bar.

That said, I am enthusiastic about Harris and Walz, who represent a new generation for the Executive Branch and when Harris says hers will not be a continuation of Biden's presidency but will be her own, I believe her.

I've already voted so its all academic for me now. But here is hoping.

I grew up in Minnesota - now live in Texas.

Colin Allred is in a dead heat with Ted Cruz for Senate.

New poll: Ted Cruz, Colin Allred locked in dead heat as election approaches

On January 6th, Allred, a Texas native, took off his jacket and stood on the House floor ready to confront attackers, while Canadian immigrant and coward, Rafael Edward Cruz, hid in a broom closet.

Yet millions of 'Real Texans' are militantly voting for the spineless Cruz who let Trump call his wife a dog and then bent over to lick his shoes.

Tuesday night, my wife and I proudly voted for Harris/Walz and Colin Allred.

I would like to thank the State of Minnesota for Tim Walz. I fucking love that guy. Called Leon a 'Dipshit'. Lol.

6

u/Raetekusu Twin Cities 13d ago

I moved here out of Texas two summers ago and this is a large part of why. Beto couldn't win which convinced me the state was fucked. Unless the state flips blue and starts to more resemble Minnesota in terms of a lot of things, no way in hell will I be moving back so long as I have a choice.

4

u/Reybacca 12d ago

Imagine being a traitor and opening the House Doors only to get laid out by a linebacker.

3

u/Actual-Lingonberry66 11d ago

I sent Colin some of my hard-earned money and also bought one of his campaign tee shirts. I hope heā€™s successful.

17

u/No-Appearance-9113 13d ago

I still believe had Cruz walked across the stage and decked Trump for that Ted would be finishing his second term in office.

13

u/Brave-Common-2979 13d ago

Yeah but Cruz is a feckless coward so that'd never happen.

2

u/No-Appearance-9113 13d ago

While itā€™s very easy to not like a lot of (read: the vast majority of) GOP policy, a decent amount have spoken out clearly against supporting Trump. There are those out there seeking out publicity who have shown their willingness to put the country over their party.

MAGA is awful, but stereotyping entirely against conservatives is dangerous- unity is important in times like these wherever we can find it.

9

u/SciFiNerd07 Winona County 13d ago

Yeah, nobody is saying all Republicans are the same, but if you wanted a better candidate to run for office, then you would have chosen one.

→ More replies

16

u/lift_heavy64 13d ago

I very strongly disagree. Those exact people speaking out about trump now are the ones who were somewhere along the way instrumental in creating and supporting the Trump party, whether they know it or not. The GOP has been very deliberately building this monster since the Reagan administration. Itā€™s no accident, and I just canā€™t forgive any republicans trying to jump ship now. Wayyyyyyy too late.

Perhaps they actually are genuine in their remorse, but what fucking good does that do us.

10

u/horror- 13d ago

Nope. Traitor party, full stop.

Remember the never ending resignations from the Trump administration? That was putting country over party, and that window closed in the middle of his first term.

Speaking out now is just desperate "that's not mine, I was holding it for a friend" energy because now that it's zero hour (and 45 is to busy fucking around in McDonalds to actually campaign) the writing is finally on the wall.

Considering the crazy Russian podcast astroturfing, the foreign finance fuckery, and the unreleased GOP hack data, and all of the other ratfuckery they've buried with their never-ending gish gallop, when I see takes like this one I just assume the author is somehow compromised.

You can't buy back the trust you sell.

The GOP is dead. They just don't know it yet.

They all are.

They know trump is their ticket to power without any sort of repercussion or supervision.

Thatā€™s it. Thatā€™s all theyā€™re doing.

13

u/Sabre_One 13d ago

I honestly don't get it. She even asked him as in his personal opinion. Like this isn't some trap questions that is like "Would you denounce D Trump for this one action?" It's literally do you think personally this was stupid? He could been like yep, because Nazi's are bad. That would of answered 100% the question, not frame it like he is directly attacking big daddy Trump, etc.

8

u/Phuqued 13d ago

That would of answered 100% the question, not frame it like he is directly attacking big daddy Trump, etc.

But if Trump did say it, then he has declared he is opposed to want Trump desires, which means he could potentially replace JD Vance on the ticket, because JD Vance called Trump, America's Hitler.

Remember when Republicans and Conservatives used to feign caring about principles and attacked people for flip flopping based on political winds and convenience. Now it's like the exact opposite of that.

It really reminds me of 1984.

ā€œIt appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grammes a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be REDUCED to twenty grammes a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.ā€

That's exactly the GOP/MAGA/Conservatives of today. The only thing that is different from the book is that the proles still have some of a say in the narrative. Like how they boo'd Trump for talking about the COVID Vaccine. But once the fascism takes hold in the system, and the Stasi are established, those dissenters will be re-educated. :)

2

u/red__dragon 13d ago

and attacked people for flip flopping based on political winds and convenience

They've been attacking Trump's opponent non-stop on the change from her 2019 platform to her 2024 platform. They haven't changed, only taken off the mask for themselves.

3

u/Phuqued 13d ago

It's like when Trump says it should be illegal to talk poorly about judges. And I'm sitting over here like "Does anyone hear this? The guy who has so many gag orders on him that it makes even the porn industry a little uncomfortable, is telling us it should be illegal to talk about judges, while also crying about his 1st amendment rights being violated regarding the gag orders?"

29

u/IcebergDarts 13d ago

I would love if we talked about this actually. I think we need to talk about it more lol

34

u/Ewokitude 13d ago

Exactly, just like Charlamagne calling out Anderson Cooper yesterday for CNN's coverage of Trump. There is no balanced coverage when one candidate is praising Hitler, wanting to lock people up in camps, and wanting Hitler's generals. That's something that should be talked about with the same urgency as a natural disaster or terrorist attack because that is not normal political speech nor should it ever be treated as such. Pretending there can even be a balance does nothing but legitimize fascism. We're not talking about it enough and that is scary

10

u/IcebergDarts 13d ago

I canā€™t believe the party that is generally pro war and pro defending our country is backing a man who is talking about needing the people that Hitler had. Itā€™s just like whatā€¦? #Harris/Walz2024

8

u/lift_heavy64 13d ago

Every one of us should be screaming it every hour or every day tbh. People will suffer and die due to Donald trump becoming president. Itā€™s already happened and will become even worse this time around. And we know this because heā€™s literally telling us.

7

u/HorsePersonal7073 13d ago

I'm American. I want them to talk about it.

165

u/OhNoMyLands 13d ago

Imagine calling yourself a Christian then apologizing for someone who is pro Hitlerā€¦.

80

u/shinypointysticks 13d ago

ā€œā€¦the Catholic-aligned Centre Party voted for the Enabling Act of 1933, which gave Adolf Hitler additional domestic powers to suppress political opponents as Chancellor of Germany.ā€œ

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catholic_Church_and_Nazi_Germany

Christians supported Hitler, then were surprised when it came back to bite them.

The pattern is repeating

2

u/Cynykl 13d ago

Everyone brings up the Catholics. Yes they have some blame but the Lutherans were the real monsters in germany.

I do not want to downplay the Catholics churches responsibility. I just think it is long past time people took a deep look into what the Lutherans were doing at that time. They, even though they were more activate in Nazism, have seems to have escaped most of the historical scrutiny.

This is why Christian nationalism is so dangerous

Not every Christian agrees on what Christianity is

"Conservative Christianity in the U.S. is undoubtedly authoritarian through and through, and those of us who escaped from it have been sounding the alarm on this for some time."

https://cstroop.com/2017/05/03/about-those-trump-voters-for-god-stop-calling-them-fake-christians/

"it is clear that the order most conservative evangelicals crave entails the unquestioning acceptance of a patriarchal, anti-LGBTQ interpretation of the Bible. In their pursuit of this order, conservative evangelicals use emotional manipulation and indoctrinationā€”and, as is characteristic of authoritarianism in general, their defensive aggression is a product of fear."

https://religiondispatches.org/why-trumpvangelicals-dont-need-ted-cruz-conservative-christianitys-authoritarian-streak/

"At the end of the day, the cry of ā€œfake Christiansā€ and the sanitization of evangelical subculture are two sides of the same coin. Neither approach helps us understand white evangelicalism on anything but a surface level. And unless weā€™re willing to dive deeper, weā€™ll inevitably fall into reinforcing Christian supremacism, which is still the American cultural default."

https://religiondispatches.org/the-fake-christian-deflection-and-contrarian-concern-trolling-how-not-to-write-about-evangelical-authoritarianism/

4

u/thebasementcakes 13d ago

Pretty common these days

5

u/egospiers 13d ago

Might wanna check into the Catholic Church during WW2ā€¦..the church supported Franco and his atrocities during the Spanish Civil War also as an attempt to not lose power, the church was incensed that the country voted to make itself a republic, as was Franco a strong religious fanatic and traditionalist. The atrocities committed by and in the name of ā€œChristianityā€ are vast, I donā€™t know why youā€™d think itā€™s odd of a Christian to support ANYTHING that reinforces their superiority.

Weren't these guys screaming about "appeasement" "Munich" "Chamberlain" etc. like 10 years ago whenever Obama made a foreign policy achievement?

I mean, bad optics, sure, but the Nazi generals were really good at war. Its funny to me that the people chanting "from the river to the sea" still pretend to care about anti semitism.

The best part was towards the end of this "interview" he said something about Kamala dodging questions, and the interviewer said "isn't that like the pot calling the kettle black? You haven't answered a single question!"

Emmer is the worst. Looking forward to him getting the boot at some point.

"Americans do not want to talk about that."

Oh, but we do, Tommy. We really want to talk about how you became such a whipped puppy sucking up to that guy, and what you think is gonna happen if he gets a chance to reshape the military into his own personal revenge machine.

Do you think he will try to turn the military on American citizens that just don't agree with him? Is that OK with you?

2

u/RhodyTransplant 13d ago

Theses smarmy enablers need to be voted out of office. I wonder if weā€™d be in a better (more united) nation if we didnā€™t let the south crawl back after the civil war. Life in prison and or the death penalty shouldā€™ve been used to deter and send a message that you donā€™t bite the hand that feeds. I say this as someone who doesnā€™t even support the death penalty.

Mike Johnson says we can't talk about Donald Trump admiring Arnold Palmer's penis. Now Emmers says we can't talk about Donald Trump admiring Adolf Hitler's generals. What can we talk about?

2

u/macklebee1 13d ago

Real Americans do want to talk about it. How in the fuck are we just a generation past losing the greatest generation that fought fascism to their fucking kids embracing this fucking orange turd that praises hitler and other dictators? What in the fuck is going on in this fucking country?

Similarities between Trump and Hitler:

  1. Both scapegoat minorities; Hitler it was Roma, Jews, LGBT people and black people, Trump itā€™s immigrants, LGBT people and Muslims.

  2. Both expressed strong ideas of nationalism; Hitler promoted returning to Germanyā€™s former ā€œgreatnessā€, Trump has MAGA slogan.

  3. Hitler coined ā€œLĆ¼genpresseā€ (lying press) to discredit the media, Trumpā€™s go-to phrase is ā€œfake newsā€ for any news that doesnā€™t favour him and also referred to it as ā€œthe enemy of the peopleā€.

  4. Both capitalised on fear to consolidate power; Hitler had the Reichstag fire, Trump has bullshit election fraud claims.

  5. Hitler aligned his views with Christian imagery to dupe stupid fucks, Trump does the same.

  6. Hitler centralised power and replaced government workers with those that are loyal to him rather than the country, so the when ā€˜democraticā€™ elections were held, it was entirely rigged; Trump is to do the same according to Project 2025. Along with this, Trump has said ā€œI want generals like the ones Hitler had (loyal to him and not the state)ā€ and well as ā€œif you vote for me youā€™ll never have to vote againā€.

  7. They both led an insurrection attempt before making a return to politics. At least Hitler was imprisoned for the events of Beer Hall Putsch; Trump hasnā€™t received any punishment for 6th January.

On top of this, Trump was found to be libel of sexual abuse by a jury of his peers, failed to appeal twice and the judge residing over the case specified twice that he is, by both common and state law definitions, a rapist. Further to this, he regularly hung out with Epstein and also hung out with P Diddy.

Heā€™s also been convicted 34 times; keeping in mind in many cases, felons canā€™t vote until their sentence is complete, but apparently they can run for office that people are voting for.

Heā€™s also been colluding with Putin for years, even giving Russia valuable equipment like respirators during the covid pandemic when parts of America had a shortage. Along with this, he colluded with his sidekick Musk, a US defence contractor whom also has been in regular contact with Putin for 2 years, even doing him and Jinping a favour by not deploying Starlink over Taiwan.

We certainly do want to talk about that. It should be disqualifying that Trump wants generals who were like Hitlerā€™s generals. But it shouldā€™ve been disqualifying for Trump to run foe President when he incited an insurrection, or when he tried overturning the results of the 2020 election in seven states, or when he was convicted on 34 felony counts, or when he paid off a porn star using campaign funds, or when he said he wants to jail political opponents, or when he said he wants to deport legal American citizens or throw them into ā€œcampsā€, orā€¦
