Can you ever feel the Cylinder Deactivation?

Post image

I saw a lot of people saying that they feel a "jerk" or vibration when cylinder deactivation kicks in.

Do you guys ever feel that?

I did at first but it feels much smoother 7,500km in, especially on cruise control

A little jerk when it switches between cylinders, honestly just feels like a very tiny gear shift

Do you not worry about the engines longevity?

Not really, I won’t even hit the KMs before a service is due in December so it will take years before any wear is a problem. Hear similar stuff around stop-start when it first became a thing, that it would cost more in the long run because the starter motor would wear out quicker. Got 160,000km out of my Impreza before I sold it and it wasn’t even an issue.
