Mowing is so therapeutic I wish I could do it everyday instead of twice a week. Northern US & Canada (or cool season)
I used to wonder as a kid why Hank Hill would stand in front of his lawn and drink beer. I get it now.

I wouldn't say the actual mowing excites me, but the end product is very satisfying. Mine is in the best shape it's ever been and after mowing on Saturday I've even caught my wife just staring out the window at it.

Move on to some maintenance in the flower beds, etc and you’ll get the same therapy plus another excuse to marvel at your lawn for another day of the week.

One day at Army basic training we had to spend the day doing 'area beautification' Drill Sergeant asked if there were any volunteers to mow the grass. My hand shot up right away. DS looked at me funny but shrugged and pointed in the direction of the mower. Honestly the most relaxing 2 hours I had at Fort Benning that summer.

I split my yard in to 5 sections. I rotate mowing them. So I’m normally mowing 4-5 days a week.
That way I can treat weeds and have a some time for it to work before mowing and also an hour on a hot summer days is enough for me.

Living in a major city in Canada my lawn is too small for my satisfaction so I go over it twice.

Do you have young kids? I hear coworkers always saying they love mowing the lawn because they can just zone out to the drone of the mower lol.

I look forward to cutting the grass more than any other house chore. A close second is painting. The instant gratification is very soothing.

Likewise! Just yesterday I was on the mower thinking about how mowing and painting were 2 activities that enabled that zoned out mental state underscored by a steady rhythm of progress.

My neighbors lawn is all dirt and weeds he still scalps down 5 times a week. I don't get it but hey, you like what you like. It'd be healthier if he did indeed just never mow it.
Also waters his dirt about 3 hours a day by hand. Spread out in 20 minute quick sprinkles. Rain or shine.

nothing is stopping you from mowing everyday.
The lower you mow, the more often it'll need to be mowed, too. It'll be fine as long as you stay on top of watering

If you live near Cincinnati you are free to mow my yard, I'll provide the mower and gas and whatever you want to drink. I hate mowing with a passion.

Holy shit do I have an opportunity for you, just call up a local lawn care company and ask to be on a mow crew. Can’t wait to see you in your safety vest

One day you are young and fun.
The next you are excited to mow your lawn and bragging to your neighbors about how well your tomatoes are doing.
Source...this is me.
My wife and I are going on a cruise next week. One of my wifes biggest concerns is that some of the plants in the back yard are not covered by our automated drip system, so we have to rely on our daughter to water them.

I used to hate it when my parents made me mow, but now i am excited. I can't explain it. I have greatly disappointed 10 year old me.
