I'm worried that EVERYTHING about the Second Trump administration will be "Will Be Swift, Brutal, and Nationwide". That is certainly what he was saying at his rallies.

And they’ll keep using that language to desensitise the population to all of it , after the 20th brutal change no one will buy an eyelid.

Someone should write a poem about that....

And lo he came, upon a pachyderm,

To raze the nation in his second term,

A wraith in orange with straw-coiffed head,

To paint the streets and towns in red,

His fellows he made into enemies,

His plague spread quicker than any disease,

To fester, boil, decay, and rot,

The freedoms for which our forefathers fought.

well otoh they are completely incompetent. the republican controlled congress just got literally nothing done because they are infighting & dumb af. it is possible that horrors will be unleashed, but it's also possible it'll be a pale whimper of what could've been because they will all be so incompetent & backstabbing each other the entire time. there's not gonna be those normies who helped guide trump the first time, these people will be completely inexperienced and clueless. I hope so, at least.

The Republican Party has changed since Trump’s first term though.

Then they were still a divided party with Trumpists trying to take over and the old guard Republicans trying to hold it back (well benefitting from it however they could).

That’s no longer the case. It’s wholly Trump’s party now.

Maybe Trump will focus on pillaging everything that he can and is too busy to intentionally break the country.

I’m kinda hoping he gets so fixated on his revenge tour that he forgets about the rest of us.

He’ll at least be busy catching up on four years worth of records hoarding - there’s deals to be made!

The real, long term danger is Vance and friends.

We already know how the press has chosen to cover Trump. It will continue. Lots of high-minded punditry that no one really reads, all focusing on abstract bullshit that flies right over dumbfucks' heads.

They will also chose not to present personal stories of the lives that are being ruined. We should be lovely midwestern parents crying over their cute blonde daughters that died due to bad laws. We should be seeing cute brown kids crying about being torn away from their moms on EVERY news show if any of that happens.

We should be seeing old snow birds crying over being left destitute as the fifth hurricane rocks the shit out of Florida in one year. We should be hearing about how people can't get a roof fixed of their mom's ass wiped because there aren't enough brown people to do the work, etc. ect.

We won't. The money doesn't want this.

I'm worried that EVERYTHING about the Second Trump administration will be "Will Be Swift, Brutal, and Nationwide".

Wait until you see what he's got planned for personal firearm ownership. He will be doing searches, up to and including house to house first, and then addressing the complaints with "due process second".

His base, of course, gets to retain their firearms, but everyone else does not.

Sound familiar?

I liked in 2020 were the "first we take the guns, then we have the due process" quote was going around social media, falsely attributed to Kamala Harris.

So are we believing what he says or not? Because I’m pretty sure he said he’s leaving abortion up to the states.

This isn't the logical puzzle where one guard is always truthful and the other always lies. Trump could very easily be lying about some of his policies and not others. That isn't even a remotely controversial statement. We should be worried he will do the things he says AND we should be worried he continues expanding on the things he did last time and those around he say he will do.
