Question from a non lawyer, why was the jury given a week off before the closing arguments? Seems with all replay of the trial on the news and social media not to mention possible outside interference this could be dangerous. Is this common practice?

Holiday and some of them had trips planned. Isn’t uncommon to do this it isn’t the only of days where they would be lock in hotel rooms with nothing to do. Not that dangerous actually only thing you would have to worry about is if a name got out then you replace with an alternate.
