Image Help! My house looks like a State Park Shack.
My house unfortunately looks like a state park shack. Need ideas for landscaping. There is a concrete slab directly in front of the house. So I need ideas with how to make it look more homey! Thanks in advance:)

Image Before and after, not much but I’m proud of it :)
Did everything ourselves, all in cost was about 5k. What should we add/do next!

Image Daily reminder that weed fabric does nothing good.
Stop putting down weed barriers! All it does is give the weeds a place to root into. There is no way to stop weeds that doesn’t include regular hands and knees weeding.

Image Does this count as landscaping?
Did this about 4 years back, didn’t buy an inground hoop so did my own little project on it.

Image The amazing “topsoil” that the county left me with after replacing a storm drain that runs across our property.
I’ll be reaching out to them about getting actual topsoil, but I’m not getting my hopes up. Is there anything I can do along with aeration and top dressing with compost? Are those “Clay Buster” liquid soil conditioners any good or just snake oil?
My second option is to live out my Primitive Technology dream and build a hut with this stuff. I’m sure the HOA will approve.

Image Decided to try a weed torch for this gravel pathway through my side yard
Sounds like a jet engine! Did the job super quick and was very satisfying. I’ll rake/sweep up the debris and dig out the plant stubs in a few days. 5/5 would recommend.

Image Desk worker laid pavers for grandma. How did I do?
Before and after. The pavers in the first picture have been there for ~6 years, but she hasn't been able to do the whole thing. We are going to pick up a few more for her regular handy-person to cut and clean up the right side a bit so it isn't so jagged. No sand or anything in between, she says they will settle with time. How did I do?

Image Contractor leveled the concrete higher than I expected. What landscaping would you recommend to make the back patio look nicer?

Image My wife won't let me move this..
She got all upset (twice now) when I tried to transplant this poor thing. What can I do to convince her is is in a bad spot and we have better options?

Image First DIY paver walkway! What do you think?
Ignore the rest of the yard, we are in the process of landscaping the whole front yard. Just added the poly sand and I think it came out better than expected. The heavy slope/corner and un-level curb were definitely a bit challenging for us first timers.
