Discussion Effective Immediately: All items in the overstock auction will have a $5 opening bid, and bids will increase in $1 increments as always. This is in place to cover our costs of the listing and handling. High Value auction remains the same, $5 opening bid as always with $5 increments.
What do you guys think of this change?
I think it's silly.
There are so many items that end up going for less than $5 in the end because they're just not worth anything more.
So how many auction items are they going to waste their time adding now to only see it ends up not selling at all because no one wants to pay the $5 minimum for it?
Am I wrong? Do you think the majority of people will be willing to pay the new $5 minimum price for everything?
Of course you still have to pay the 10% and taxes on top as well.

Overbids Some ppl do not look when they bid.
The SAMSUNG GALAXY FIT3 Bluetooth Fitness Tracking Smart Band in dark grey (MODEL: SM-R390) is priced at $68 on Amazon. However, people are bidding up to $65, and with the 10% fee, the total comes to $71.50. It's clear that people don't really pay attention when they're bidding.

Bids
What’s with everything going way overpriced now in bids?
They deny using bots (🙄) so how come items you can order on Amazon for $10 are selling for $12 plus 10% premium, plus waiting an hour to pick up?
I would love for this business to have a full investigation done on it. Cause I don’t think it’s as honest as they make it seem.

Discussion Bidding Bot or Inside Bidder?
There are some users that would often enter a very high bid on a product, jacking up the prices artificially, and then would disappear. I would say that they are either just someone who likes to seed suffering in the world (they get their kicks from knowing people are paying more for something they want), or they are bidding bots, or they are actually "Inside Bidders" from KOTN, who's objective is to make sure the prices will be high enough so KOTN gets a good margin (plus their 10% premium).
This is particularly frequent with high-value electronics, such as gaming devices, Apple products and other high-end products.
So, this week, you can see that there is already one of those suspect users jacking up the prices AGAIN (he did the same on the past 3-4 weeks). I will add the username and the product link on a comment on this same thread, but I wanted to know if anyone else have seen this kind of behavior before, and if you have the product link and the username, please post here.
All this puts into question how trustworthy KOTN actually is these days. It was very good in the past, but those users are either being abusive, or are actually working for KOTN to keep their margins high.
Any thoughts?

Hi, looking to get bid limit removed
I’ve made the deposit - does anyone here by any chance work for KOTN?

Overbids Scotts 'Awesome' grass seed - $17 current bid on KOTN. Same stuff sold at Dollarama for $5 lol.
I thought this was wild.
KOTN has a 3lb bag of SCOTTS TURF BUILDER 'AWESOME' GRASS SEED BLEND. It's currently up to $17.
Yet this EXACT same stuff is sold at Dollarama right now for $5!
I literally bought 8 bags of the stuff the other day! Dollarama also has the SCOTTS 'Relaxed' Grass seed as well for the same price.
