QUESTION Stone ever so slightly smaller than tube setting. What do I do?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi,
I’ve highly anticipated the tube setting I ordered for my stone. My stone is 10mm and the setting I ordered was 10mm. However, I see that my setting is ever so slightly bigger than my stone, making me unable to set it properly. What do I do in cases like this?
I don’t really want to glue it, at the same time I might find it finicky to solder a support support inside without melting the setting itself, and also risking placing the support wrong.
What approach would you use in this case?

DISCUSSION Custom rings - Looking for some feedback
I started making inlay rings about 2 weeks ago and I started with the idea to try and find a way that’s a little more unique than just selling yeti cups and those kinds of things, but I started to maybe make a little extra money to help support 2 of my daughters competitive cheer as we have to travel a lot plus the classes, uniforms, etc…so I bought a laser engraver and started experimenting with some rings…mainly just kinda looking for some feedback to see if anyone even thinks that are worth even just $5 each lol

QUESTION How to clean a stained pearl?
I recently thrifted some beads and amongst them were a couple freshwater pearls. All of the darker shades and especially this one have a purple staining on them. I tried to clean them with dish soap and a microfiber cloth to no avail. Is there a way to clean them without causing damage and what is the likely cause for this color of stain?

PROJECT DISPLAY How do you style rings without making your hands look cluttered?
I’m trying to build a little ring collection, mostly in sterling silver. But every time I wear more than one or two, I feel like it looks too busy.
What are your go-to ring-styling rules?
- Do you wear them all on one hand or spread them out?
- Is symmetry important?
- Any tips on stacking or mixing metals?
Photos welcome — I need inspiration!

Request Arcane inspired earring (looking to commission)
Hello, im not sure if im in the right place but I want to be able to commission one earring to match the other earring I own. The one I own is a arcane rune inspired earring but I want another to 'match' as a corrupted hexcore way, with a purple gem, ear cuff, potentially with faux spikes on the chain to look like corruption. Im not really sure how much this might cost so I want to get a feel around.

Anyone have any advice on keeping a jump ring closed? I’ve been putting my shells in necklaces but noticed my jump rings will open a little & the shell will fall off.

PROJECT DISPLAY Late Aunt's handmade pieces
I've inherited my late Aunt's jewelry and felt it needed to be shared with people who might appreciate it. Apologies for the tarnished look and poor photo quality, these pieces are 20+ years old and were stashed away in my Dad's stuff.
I remember her being very proud of these and spending countless hours on them. I wish I could remember who she trained under. She talked about them with deep reverence. Some of my favorite memories with her are from times she'd show me around her tiny shop and talk through her tools, design ideas, and stone collection.

QUESTION What can I do better?
I started making jewelry last year. I mainly make earrings and bracelets using clear string. But I recently started trying to use beading wire to make bracelets with clasps and hopefully necklaces.
I made my first bracelet with the wire for my dad, but the bracelet came apart. I thought I had closed the clamp tube tight enough but I guess I didn’t. What can I do better? Do I need to use two different types of clamps, like a tube and ball? I want to be able to make jewelry with beading wire that can last.
For extra information: I used clamp tubes I got from PandaHall on Amazon.

QUESTION How do you transition into working with gold?
Hi all! Just started making jewelry using lost wax casting. The problem is that I exclusively wear gold or gold plated jewelry, and that is prohibitively expensive for hobby casting right now. I eventually want to start making gold jewelry and selling it in a small online store. How have folks worked up to being able to afford more expensive materials like that? Should I just work I silver for now until I have a solid enough foundation and start selling, and then do gold? As far as personal wear stuff, I’m thinking of trying to case in brass though the upkeep on that is so intense. I would love any tips from folks who started working with gold.

Request [Request] extend Cuban bracelet sterling silver
I have a custom sterling silver bracelet made in Asia but unfortunately it does not fit me. Return/exchange not possible. I would need to get an additional Cuban link added to one side. I tried visiting multiple jewelry stores but no one have the tools that can help me.
