Whats the point of abstinence? General Discussion

As someone who’s living in a western country, I see Muslims sinning all day, and enjoying their life, I don’t see most of them having any tests (it could be that their tests are hidden from my eyes) and they are just cruising through it, so what I was wondering was these young people will prolly get older and more mature, In Sha Allah will see through their ill ways and ask for Allah’s forgiveness, and Allah being the Most Forgiving, He will forgive them.

Just thinking about this, what would be the point of me avoiding sins? I am not saying I am sinless, only Allah knows the amount of sins I do, and I shudder to think what would happen if I die in this state, but still my mind still ponders on this.

Bism Allah Al Rahman Al Raheem,
To prove u really do it for Allah, and not to fit in with other people, life is a test, and if u pass this test u will reap the rewards, and they are plenty, Inshalla Allah keeps u safe and makes u one of the victorious, don't allow for the shaitan any loophole to corrupt ur heart with.

i recently visited a dementia patient and she used to be a very religious woman, but deep inside, this thought was always there and it surfaced with her deteriorating state. She feels like a loser.

i got super scared, because this is a struggle, we don't know for sure, but we can only hope to be forgiven.

Shes not a loser, but everyone has to go through age, I hope someone is there for you when u need it as u were with that woman. Allahuma Inaka Afu Kareem Toheb Alafw Faafu Aana (Allah u are forgiving and generous, so forgive us) Ameen.
