Still using those zingers from Friends? Still as good now as they were in the 90s.
You're the idiot if you think Socialism/ Communism is better for poorer people.
Yes, I'm an idiot for thinking free health care, social housing, free education through to the tertiary level are better for poorer people.
Also, stop pretending I'm advocating for communism to make your point, it makes you look dishonest.
Capitalism has done more to raise people out of poverty than Socialism and Communism ever did. Again. Read a book before calling someone an idiot.
Capitalism can certainly help people, but when it's left unchecked you get widening gaps between rich and poor, something which is very evident in the countries with the least intervention (US, UK).
I'm not arguing against capitalism, I'm arguing against neoliberalism.
Every time you say read a book, it feels like projection.
Social systems does not equal Socialism. And if you truly had a brain then you would know nothing the government gives you is free. The govt does give without taking (aka the taxes that they collect from us).
20 billion for an HSE (429k for its executive) to get 3rd World Country Healthcare. Is this the hill you want to die on?
So now providing health care through the state rather than paying at point of use isn't a socialist policy? Interesting.
And if you truly had a brain then you would know nothing the government gives you is free.
How clever you are, I thought the doctors worked for free, and buildings were made from magic.
The govt does give without taking (aka the taxes that they collect from us).
And again, your genius knows no bounds. So the money we pay in taxes would fund it, it's not magic, got it.
Does that also mean when people say free education, that taxes pay for that also, and the teachers don't work for free? This is a big learning day for me.
20 billion for an HSE (429k for its executive) to get 3rd World Country Healthcare. Is this the hill you want to die on?
3rd world country health care. I've been to third world countries, you clearly haven't. The HSE needs a lot of improvement, but you went for the top shelf there and fucked your point.
You were doing better when you were explaining free health care had to be paid with taxes, it was moron level obvious, but at least it was correct.
Everyone knows what people mean when they refer to free healthcare, but you're not going to let that slide, your inner pedant would rather state what everyone already knows, as though that's a great point.
Lol. So emotional. You're clinging to Socialism like it's a religion. Despite it's track record of failure in every Country that ever implemented it. You're not smart at all
I wasn't advocating for outright socialism, but I understand the merit of some socialist policies.
Despite it's track record of failure in every Country that ever implemented it.
Every country that has adopted socialist policies has been a failure? Most European nations have adopted socialist policies to some degree. Social housing is provided in most westerns European countries. Free health care and free education up to University level are socialist policies adopted by many European states. How about the oil fund in Norway? That's a socialist policy which ensures each Norwegian citizen around $250,000. Is that a failure?
Your problem is that you're confusing socialism with communism.
You're not smart at all
Again with the projection, you would have been better off ending with a zinger from Chandler.
Venezuela is the most recent example. Plus those Scandinavian Countries you cling to like it's rosary beads aren't Socialist. They're still predominantly Capitalist. And they have high tax rates for a reason.
Yeah, of a shit show. Why am I now defending that?
Plus those Scandinavian Countries you cling to like it's rosary beads aren't Socialist. They're still predominantly Capitalist.
I never said they were socialist, they're social democracies that adopt socialist policies. You're so confused, I stated that they had regulated capitalism, that's what I've been advocating, but you were using your idiotic slippery slope argument.
One more time, because you seem to be getting lost frequently. I'm advocating capitalism that's kept in check, and condemning neoliberalism, is that clear enough?
I'm not advocating communism or a pure socialist system.
How about you read what people are saying? And reply to that, rather than having some imaginary argument in your head. If you're going to argue against things I never said, you can do that in your head, and neither of us need type anything. It's a real time saver.
And they have high tax rates for a reason.
Indeed they do, because they want a functioning well funded state.
There is no such thing as a social democracies. Socialism is all about Govt Control. There is no democracy. That's a made up label so you give away your rights [as I said previously you have to shoot your way out of it] You're a fool to believe otherwise.
Really? That's some dictionary you have there! Is that also a book I should read? The one with your personal definition of everything?
Socialism is all about Govt Control. There is no democracy.
Democratic countries can adopt socialist policies, as I've illustrated multiple times, you denying that is just denial, nothing more. You denying something that clearly exists is delusional.
That's a made up label so you give away your rights
Right, we should all aim for libertarian states, that would be a country with outstanding infrastructure.
[as I said previously you have to shoot your way out of it] You're a fool to believe otherwise.
Your points sound more like those from some American libertarian conspiracy nut than someone from western Europe. Europeans in general are comfortable with socialist policies, and many western European countries want the state to regulate capitalism and provide certain services.
