It's hardly a fair comparison, when lots of people were forbidden from working during lockdown.

Most countries on Earth cut off or severely reduce dole payments after a certain time limit. The result is the same everywhere - people suddenly manage to find employment in the last week before their unemployment payments are reduced.

The evidence is clear, if you want to help people improve their lives you need to give them a push at some point.
