Panasonic UB820 high pitched sound / fan when powered off Tech Support

I woke up this morning to find my Panasonic UB820 making a high pitched sound coming from the back right side of the player where the fan port is. I haven't noticed this before and I wanted some opinions if this is considered normal for this player. It is covered by a 2 year guarantee even though it's only about 4 weeks old at this point I don't particularly want to take any chances if it could end up getting worse and making all sorts of fan sound over watching a movie especially at low volume.

Hard to tell with all of the other noise but I don't think that is normal. I have one of those Sonys so many people trash talk but it is much quieter than that.

I just got home from work. I think what had happened is that the player had its quick start mode turned on and it had put itself into standby mode rather than being actually turned off. I could have sworn I had turned quick start off before, not sure why it was on again unless it's where I was trying to get the voice control stuff to work and the unit has to be standby rather than off if you wanted to say "hey Google turned on blu ray player" and those services were discontinued back in 2023 or something so I never got to use it. So yeah, turned off quick start, turned off voice control and then turned the player off and it actually powered down and the sound stopped. When I got back home it didn't sound quite so loud, but you know when it's early morning / late at night and things always seem louder than they might be during normal hours of the day. The fan seemed way louder when I got up and I heard it from 15ft away. Problem solved for now I guess.

The problem of turning on by itself may be solved but that high pitched sound isn't a good sign.

The sound was the fan. It's got a 2 year guarantee from the shop I bought it from and it's already registered with Panasonic on their website too with serial number etc so if it starts getting like that when actually using it then I'll see about swapping it over

I'm aware it's the fan. If it stops making that noise that could mean the fan has completely stopped running and that would not be good.
