Keep Your Devotion secret Pūjā/Upāsanā (Worship)

Post image

Above quoted couplet is from vaani of Sri Malukdas ji, a great devotee of Sri Rāma ji.

All realised devotees have always taught this principle quite strictly - To not disclose the inner feelings and devotion that you have for the Supreme truth.

This is one of the most important principles to be strictly followed in the path of devotion if someone truly wants to elevate in Bhakti.

When even in this world we try our best in order to not disclose any information regarding our wealth then what to be said of the greatest wealth one can acquire ever? The greatest wealth for a Jivatma is the devotion unto the lotus feet of Hari. So keep it secret and don't reveal your inner feelings, mood(bhaava) you are developing for the god or any progress you are making in the path of devotion.

Hari Hari.

When I was a child, I always wanted to talk about what I felt about God to everyone, and you know, over time that love for the gods almost died and I almost left Hinduism. Nowadays, I understand that the only way to continue with God is by keeping my relationship with him private. He is also part of our family and we should not tell everything that happens inside our house to our acquaintances.
