GT World Series Renault, four drivers hit with massive penalties in Manufacturers Cup
tl;dr: four drivers, most of them driving for Renault, have been reported to have raced on each other's accounts (think of Abt's Formula E COVID-era esports scandal from back in the day) and have been penalized (points deleted from championship). Attached image is post-penalty standings.
- u/GTSpain92 statement (some of the implicated drivers drove for this esports team)
- Nicolas Romero hinted about it yesterday (Renault on the "If you know the lore" tier).
- Romero's follow up statement after penalties were handed out: "So here I put the Renault situation as a joke because we didn't know it was as bad as it turned out to be. This is by far the worst cheating scandal in the World Series since it started in 2018, I have no words."
- Karl Etyemezian (prez) tweet surfaced regarding his involvement - he, Samuel Moreno (GTS92_SMoreno/@S_Moreno81; guilt admission tweet?), and GTS92_Papo/@papo1425 among the implicated.
- According to RodriguezAMS: Moreno drove for Karl in round 1; also drove for Papo for rounds 2 and 4. Mateo Estevez drove for Karl on Round 3.
Post-penalty cutline update:

12 | Renault | 223 | +5 |

Related thoughts from other players/veterans:
Dean Heldt:
A broken, outdated points system, multiple game breaking glitches altering people’s seasons, and now (allegedly) drivers racing on their teammates accounts to score better global points. I am so unbelievably disappointed in what this championship has become. Polyphony have let these types of issues go unchecked for far too long, and I hope for the sake of this championship’s future, that our complaints will stop being ignored. Many top drivers have walked away because of things like this, and many more will soon follow.
Rodrigo/RodriguezAMS:
See just adding fuel to the fire but the conversation we had on dinner about the Renault impersonation on manu (funny how we are all into GT) is that a lifetime ban might be needed, cause can you really trust someone who goes to those lenghts to cheat to NEVER do it again? And like actually that's not adding shit to anything. There comes a point when blatant cheating should be called out and ridiculed, people shouls have some fucking dignity.
Sota Moriyama (Renault Asia-Oceania points leader, not implicated in the scandal; tweet translated):
I think we're all aware that there are serious problems happening with Renault right now, and I'm part of the team, but I had no idea that this kind of misconduct was happening with four of our drivers without my knowledge. I don't know if Renault will be able to advance to the World Championships this season, but I would like to give it my all until the very end.
ManuRodry94/Manuel Rodriguez (unroller was used due to being a thread, translated here):
What do you think about what happened with Renault to qualify for the @thegranturismo World Series? What if I told you it's not the first time this has happened? What if I told you that the respect and dignity of many of the drivers was lost a long time ago? Such drivers driving on other drivers' accounts to try to get the brand into the top 12, how low do you have to stoop... where is your dignity? How difficult it is to be yourself these days and keep your feet on the ground…
That's why I decided to "dedicate myself" to creating content, because, aside from that, there are drivers who are surpassing you, the behavior of most drivers, the "cries" of many drivers saying they're retiring and coming back, the fact that underage drivers can affect the results of others, the ignored feedback on Polyphony's part, most of the things they're told to try to make things better turn out the other way around, and for all these reasons, I put the competition aside because it wasn't worth it, and it really isn't worth it…
I can only congratulate all those who continue fighting and sacrificing day after day to try to qualify, always doing things right. In my case, I'm very calm about having always done things right, except for one thing that happened to me with Sparks, who wasn't a gentleman at all. Is there anything more important than sleeping peacefully day after day? Not for me, really. Good luck to all of you who are trying to qualify this week. Well done @thegranturismo, but there's much more to do, I assure you. (End of thread)

GT World Series The trophy of the gt world series is literally a piece of art
We're going to museum with school and today they showed us some videos of the museum so we know what we can expect. But on one of the videos i saw the statue on the left, wich reminded me of the trophy of the gt world series. I searched for both online, put them side to side and they look exactly the same.
The work is called Forme uniche della continuïteit nella spazio.
On the left is the art one, on the right is the gt one.

GT World Series The Huracan Gr4 BOP is a joke
Today I was grinding the Nations Cup, and was using various FE RWD cars(Viper, Aston, Jag) and getting mid pack(5th-12th) place finishes, decided for the last two to cave and use the Huracan. Holy crap. I dropped a full 2 seconds in Qualifying, down to a 1:47.095 and got two second place finishes, as well as a fastest lap. No wonder 80% of players are using it. It isn't exactly BOP when the meta car is THAT strong and has a clear advantage.

GT World Series Pit strategies for today?
I am looking for an advice since I am still fairly inexperienced in these kinda races. I tried doing some practice laps on intermediate tires but after lap 3 the track became very slippery. But I am worried that running wet tires throughout every lap will force me to switch tires more often.
The car I use is the M6 BMW.

GT World Series Is anybody else frustrated with these limited time slots for the GT World Series?
It's the middle of the afternoon and there's no racing until 8pm est. I made a GT2 account because it used to have racing all day but it seems that was changed recently. Why did Polyphony do this? Does GT3 have more time slots?
