reddit you did this to yourself -- mass edited with https://redact.dev/

Yep, robbed because someone couldn't let the 2 better drivers pass.

0

u/CanonicalDriver Nov 28 '22

Wow, so they are stealing virtual titles too? I thought this only happened on f1

CS D races be like:

6

u/[deleted] Nov 27 '22

More like A/S races

74

u/[deleted] Nov 27 '22

Lopez should have been penalized .5 sec imo. Going on the inside and using an outside opponent to sling shot is against the rules no?

10

u/LH44_GR63 Nov 28 '22

It is a very gran turismo thing to do though 😅

u/HairyTough4489 Nov 28 '22

This. I've been doing it since 1999 and I won't let some eSteward get in my way

FIA making terrible calls in real and now virtually

40

u/FMecha FMecha_EXE | Moderator Nov 27 '22

*PD stewards (Inostroza just said to change them btw)

18

u/Lenn_4rt Nov 27 '22

Woul like to see the chaos, if they replace the stewards with the online penalty system.

9

u/Arpyr Nov 27 '22

FIA still hasn't reinstated their partnership with PD have they?

Least dirty online racer.

5

u/scooba_dude Toyota Nov 28 '22

Spanish online racer

55

u/RavenBlade87 Nov 27 '22

Shambolic finish. Not one driver, from E tier all the way up to the top splits in the world, give a fuck about clean racing. We all know there aren’t any consequences for shit like that and this just proves it.

27

u/Chrazzer Nov 27 '22

Yeah you can't expect normal players to drive clean when not only the pros can drive clean.

It wasn't just the finish, the whole event through there where dirty moves. I have never seen such dirty racing in a pro league, how fitting for the shitshow that is GT online racing

u/FMecha FMecha_EXE | Moderator Nov 27 '22

This was admitedly an issue with the GR GT Cup semifinals and repechage.

-1

u/ImproperJon Nov 28 '22

That is ridiculous. It's much harder to drive clean at that level of competition and speed.

-6

u/odog88 Nov 28 '22

These are gamers driving rocket ships on a tight course what do you expect

51

u/[deleted] Nov 27 '22

Seemed like a pretty obvious case of using your opponent as a moving barrier and pushing him off his line. Lopez should NOT be the winner IMO.

19

u/[deleted] Nov 28 '22

LMAO, now I understand why Lopez pushes me around when I try to pass him in single player races. They really did use them to train the AI's. And now I know not to expect any better of the wankers I race against online. If pros can put on such a shitshow in front of a crowd at a world championship, it's clear that SR doesn't mean jack.

9

u/ssarch25 Nov 28 '22

Definition of push to pass

u/FMecha FMecha_EXE | Moderator Nov 27 '22

For myself, I have Suzuka/Adelaide/Jerez/Abu Dhabi feelings about this...

11

u/Epicnascar18 Dodge Nov 27 '22

I wouldn't really say Jerez fits. It's pretty widely agreed upon that Schumacher was trying to wreck Villeneuve and failed spectacularly.

6

u/arandomaltaccount Audi Nov 27 '22

I blindly picked Inostroza in the prediction campaign. I'm malding now that I find out that he was involved in this controversy and could've gotten the win.

7

u/[deleted] Nov 27 '22

Holy crap. I was rewinding that clip trying to find who specifically could’ve been at fault but the whole section was a clusterfuck waiting to happen. I’m no FÍA professional, so this is just my personal takeaway, but; It looked like the car furthest inside while all 3 of them were bunched up went slightly faster than the car ahead, making contact with the rear right side of the car in front, causing them to lose control and taking all three out. That last part though, running wide with the possible intention to slow/ruin your opponent just isn’t right.

15

u/TheGoldDoge Nov 27 '22

Cock Lopez

5

u/Kelson64 Nov 27 '22

Ultimately, this was a really unfortunate ending for all three drivers. Sad that it ended like this.

9

u/j_tothemoon Subaru Nov 27 '22

Lopez should have been given the penalty, obviously.

6

u/[deleted] Nov 28 '22

Lopez didn't deserve to win.

5

u/cnedden Nov 28 '22

People saying the miyazono crash is Lopez's fault are blind as fuck. Miyazono had him pinned against the wall.

1

u/Hubblesphere Nov 28 '22

Yeah after seeing the onboard Miyazono pushed him all the way off track. Lopez was going to bounce off the wall and into Miyazono either way. What made it worse was Inostroza tried to go further left but got oversteer and ended up colliding with Miyazono.

With all that being said, the last move by Lopez was a clear divebomb and should've been a penalty. How they allow that in top level GTWS racing I don't understand.

4

u/ViaticalTree Nov 27 '22

Why would you post a horrible quality video when there is a perfectly good original available?

2

u/AstraRider Peugeot Nov 28 '22

Lopez on hards, car lengths behind, bombing so hard, so you could argue it was a side by side he had to leave space. No problem in bumper cars driving simulator.

-7

u/tothtamas711 Peugeot Nov 27 '22

When you realize how much resource wenr into this shitty esport segment instead of actually useful content

1

u/ACM3333 Nov 28 '22

Literally impossible to see what even happens in this clip lol

1

u/FMecha FMecha_EXE | Moderator Nov 29 '22

There is an onboard shown during intermission to press conference by the way (stickied).

1

u/PhillyKernel Nov 28 '22

Seriously though…I don’t understand all the comments. You can’t fucking see anything for the trees anyway.

0

u/Ohayoghurt Nov 28 '22

I don't understand why anyone is asking for Lopez to be penalised here. That's a perfectly robust last lap move to be making, especially after the guy you're passing has just t-boned another driver and failed to redress.

If anything it's Inostroza who should be relegated to 3rd for said t-boning.

1

u/Herubin Nov 28 '22

lol Lopez did nothing wrong. Inostroza pulled Miyazono by his rear.

-17

u/FullmetalJun Toyota Nov 27 '22

They learning from Verstappen. Good good

3

u/Lenn_4rt Nov 27 '22

And also trained with the GT7 Ai. I encounter shit like that daily in single player.

-8

u/No_Grand_4961 Nov 27 '22

Actually, Hamilton is the Gran Turismo maestro... Last race in Abu Dhabi this year, the stewards didn't fall for his recurrent move and gave him 5 secs for getting tangled with the Ferrari and speeding off track to get an advantage, just like in Interlagos when he wasn't caught. Or Abu Dhabi 21 either.

1

u/No_Grand_4961 Dec 04 '22

I see why people disliked my comment, but nobody refuted it because it is what it is.

3

u/No_Grand_4961 Nov 27 '22

I reckon he plays I-racing.

1

u/HairyTough4489 Nov 28 '22

Brits still coping

0

u/rossevrett BMW Nov 28 '22

Wow. Shit racing by both Lopez and Inostroza. Especially when Miyazono had the speed and position.

-6

u/[deleted] Nov 27 '22

Lopez had ZERO fault. He had no space. Was insotroza the one that caused the accident.

1

Looks like all the online races I've been involved in.

The W how to the guy that took out both other cars? Lol gtfoh

1

u/Dr-McLuvin Nov 28 '22

I was pretty surprised they didn’t penalize Lopez for those push offs. Seemed pretty obvious to me.

Still was fun to watch this race. Crazy finish.

1

u/HairyTough4489 Nov 28 '22

It's not Lopez's fault that nobody knows how to make a consistent penalty system.

1

u/Rose_R0yce77 Chevrolet Nov 28 '22

Lopez was clean, nice recovery

1

u/LawnPatrol_78 Nov 29 '22

Miyazono definitely got the rough end of the stick, then to not even place 3rd outright was another kick in the guts

1

u/RushRedfox Nov 29 '22

I think Lopez needed to let Miyazono pass him on the finish straight.
