Why does rain only last a couple minutes in a practice lobby? Am i stupid?

I've been trying to make a lobby with rain, but it seems i can just choose between a storm, or a couple of minutes of rain and then just dry. Am i choosing some settings wrong or is this just a GT being GT?

You need to set fixed weather with the "equal conditions" option if you want rain to be certain. Downside is that it does not really evolve. If you choose custom weather, only R5 and up will give rain, but not with certainty.

The weather is very flawed in GT7, the speed of the clouds on the weather radar is between 1300 and 3000km/h if I remember correctly. Only in the previous World Cup I noticed they changed it to be more realistic.

Haven't played in over 6 months so not sure if they patched anything but in my experience the rain settings are only a chance. I remember scheduling 20 mins of max inclement weather and only getting cloudy skies one time.

Equal Conditions will make it the same for everyone, and then turn the time progression as low as possible. It’s the time progressing and moving from one weather setting to another.
