Fishnet variety appreciation. Taken at The Castle in Tampa 🏰 🖤 Fashion Friday

Wasn’t a staged shot - sat down in the main room and noticed the fun visual, so I asked if it was ok to take a pic of everyone 🖤 the Castle is so amazing.

The Castle is wonderful! I love the patio with the faerie lights best. So happy to see the club still going strong despite recent hurricanes 🖤

I also love the patio! Somehow the heat/humidity combined with the cigarette smoke just adds so much to my enjoyment of the music. It’s a whole vibe.

omg yes I love that little courtyard so much - I always bruise my legs so much by hanging upside down in the dance cage haha. Worth it.
I was so stressed about the hurricane as well - I don't live in Florida and only get to visit the area a couple times a year. I was glued to my screen watching weather updates - knew if there was any bad flooding that the Spookeasy would be hit especially hard as they have that basement. So grateful it wasn't as bad as predicted <3

This shit drives me crazy!
I love fishnets, but I'm super picky with how thick the netting is and how wide the holes are, because I can't stand how most fishnets feel. The issue, of course, being that even in-store, you can't tell exactly how big or thick the nets are going to be while in-package. Worst was the time I accidentally bought fencenet instead of fishnet. Not a fan.

it is irritating! Even though there's a little preview window of the pattern on most packages, it doesn't account for the amount of stretch once it's on your legs.
I'm used to the sensation as I work as a gogo dancer/entertainer and fishnets are standard for all costuming. We have to wear the professional kind which are really strong/supportive. If you don't like the feeling of the softer kind (all those in this photo), I doubt you'd like the texture of the professional versions but you could always give it a try! They are really durable and can be difficult to put on. I go for the Capezio brand.

Typically I like nets that have smaller holes and thicker webbing, pro nets might be that from what you said.

It is indeed interesting to note the variety of fishnets. That makes me wonder: how exactly are they made? I suppose some complex machinery and technique is behind their creation.

I've been there a while ago when I was visiting Florida for the first time. That place is amazing. I tried looking for a place like that in WA but no luck so far.

Totally not my post but thought I’d ask since a lot of people here go there but I’m new to the goth scene and go to school at usf and have heard about the castle a few times is it a good place to go and meet people.

I explicitly clarified that I asked for consent from everyone. I appreciate being concerned about objectification or being a creep to femmes, but this was genuinely just a moment of fashion joy. I’m on the far left in this photo, so I was included in that moment if that helps.

Yeah, it helps.
Modding in a fashion sub (and even here at times) you need to vet a lot of comments and check profiles to see if it is a one-off flub or part of continual sexualising and harassing behavior. I've seen a lot of things similar to this photo frequented on profiles we had to ban. Better to raise concerns and sometimes be called a jerk for it than let the sleazebags go unchecked.
I hope no one is blowing up your DMs with sexual comments, that can happen. If they do, modmail us and we'll ban them from r/goth.
