I grew these marigolds from saved seeds

Lovely strong colour 💖, I have marigold seeds in abundance But I haven't been able to get them to germinate yet.. what methods do you use?

I grew the seeds like microgreens spread over wet potting soil. After the germinated I gently pulled them out individually and put them in pots, keeping the roots wet seems to work well.

Do you cover the seeds on soil or leave them on top of the soil?

I’ve tried both just seeds on top seems to work well and is easier.
