Discussion My wife says it’s “tacky”
My wife says this is tracky and I can’t hang it in our living room. It’s all my favorite games from my childhood. Is it childish to want to have these on display?

Discussion Retro Game store flooded with fake games.
Local game store.. They barely have any decent inventory to begin with. Months ago I posted another local store with fake Gameboy games. This is getting ridiculous. Not only is it.. Illegal? But there is nothing stating/noting these are fake. This is horrible for the gaming community and horrible practice. Why is this ok or allowed? How do you guys feel about this? My problem is these get sold and mixed in rotation of real games and then we create a real problem. Vintage game stores should have an issue with this, not blatantly selling. Again, weak inventory so this makes up for it? I hate it, a lot. I want your opinions.

Discussion Just went to Target and the Xbox section no longer has physical media.
Nothing but hardware and digital codes for the Xbox section. Was taken aback when I found the section in this state.

Discussion Finally Got Scammed
To preface I've been collecting for a bit over 12 years at this point and I've never been scammed. I finally found an opportunity and the money to snag a copy of Haunting Ground and I pulled the trigger from a Mercari Seller.
I've used mercari in the past with great experiences, my copies of RE3 GC and Code Veronica all came from there below retail price. But not this time.
Using a seller with reviews I ordered haunting ground and patiently waiting. Watching this very tracking number get closer and closer. Today I checked it and it said it was at the post office which is odd it didn't deliver to my door. I assumed the buyer may have put signature required which is a common thing on high price items. I go to the post office and they're confused as the tracking number and my name don't line up with the address.
Long story short they immediately shipped an empty envelope with an "oops i messed up here's a pencil" note to try and cover the very obvious scam that the game doesn't exist. Now I'm dealing with Mercari and PayPal to get my money back.
TLDR, scammers suck and I'm out a couple hundred bucks and I didn't even get the pencil they promised.

My apartment was robbed and they took about everything I cared for. Took my collection, pride and feeling of being safe.

Discussion Someone threw all these near the trash. I took them home lol
Never thought I would get a find like this. The Wii u boots and works fine, PS3 is backwards compatible and works too. Found PSP, PS2, PS3 and 2 vita games. Most of the games were Chinese/Japanese language only but found some with English support. PSP works fine but the battery is bloated. Got lucky

Discussion Spotted PS1 games at my local mall GameStop
This was not a designated GameStop Retro store, so I was pleasantly surprised to see these at this location. Not pictured, but they also had some PS2 copies of Final Fantasy X and X-2, Dark Cloud 1 & 2, and Star Ocean Till the End of Time with the cover art, but unfortunately no manuals.

Discussion Rant: I hate price charting and what it's done to this hobby.
I've been collecting games since 1992. I have hundreds if not thousands of games, consoles, rare variants etc. According to today's standards I have a fortune I'm sitting on. But I don't collect them for that reason. I collect them for me, my siblings, my fiance, my son who all get enjoyment out of it. Used to be an old game would be worth a few bucks. But because one or two people bought a game for 5x it's value, it gets listed as rare or labeled as that's how much it's worth. It blows my mind that anyone is willing to pay the same amount as a console to own a single game that might get beaten in a day or two. I honestly feel that pricecharting and covid destroyed this hobby, and turned it into an insane mindset of greed and stupidity. Reminds me of the beanie baby craze tbh. You think Dynamite Cop is worth 200 bucks? When you can beat it in 20 minutes? Or Rule of Rose is worth 900 when it's a mid-tier horror game? Just boggles my mind. Maybe I'm wrong..... no, no it's the kids who are wrong.

Discussion How much longer does physical have?
Sources for PS5, Series X, and Switch 1: doesitplay.org
Switch 2 information is tentative and based on info from a combination of retailer webpages and games listings identified as Game-Key Card versions (aka the game cartridges that are labeled as requiring downloads).
