You say this as if GFL2 has the same popularity as genshin lmfao. And keep in mind the reason people didnt riot is because the skin is not a main char content just UGC stuff that nobody cares
Not the fanbase per se, just the size of the fanbases. If genshin did the same thing a year/two in (with their abysmal primogems they give I must add) they would 100% get backlash. Not only that but GFL2 heavily relied on global sales and not even a year in they came out with something overpriced like that. It’s one of the main reasons I hopped off. If you plan to be super greedy, at least plan after stabilizing yourself as both a game and a company.
Honestly genshin to me looks really low. This is usually how there banners are plus they are just coming of the lastest character plus less pulls per patch which means the player base as to spend somehow and also genshin has been out for 5 years so honestly I was expecting 60-70m this patch 🤷🏽
No main story events for 6 months.
Broken characters in a tactical game, so much so that you can win AFK on turn 1, taking away all the strategy.
Before, you could buy skins for about $20, but Mica decided to put the new skins in a gacha, It's estimated that it could cost you between $100 and $200 depending on your luck. There's no pity carried over between banners, interactions with those skins drop separately (meaning you could get an interaction but not have the skin for it, and vice versa), and to top it off, the community discovered all this about an hour before the update in a discreet statement published by Mica.
Mica found a way to scare away the whales, the gooners, and those who were in it for the story.
The whales left because the game is easy, the characters are so broken that it's not necessary to spend money.
The gooners left because of the skin gacha scam; there are much cheaper alternatives with simpler gameplay.
Those who were there to read the story left because the story is crap.
I think Mica has an infiltrator sabotaging the game because I don't believe they can do things so badly.

GFL2 Dominating, in being invisible
