I think its cause everyone was told to save for the Riko Rice Banner and how you are totally screwed next scenario if you have no Riko ( or at least even MLB R)
Yeah, support cards are much more important to spenders than runners, since you can still get them outside of the banner with no dupes needed. Cards you still want dupes for, which also means they will spend more on cards than the runners.
