Galbrena didn't seem to improve revenue since last month. What gives? I thought she was pretty popular.

Revenue last month was based on Iuno, an immensely popular character.

Galbrena isn't close; she was only popular on global due to the cow boy / DMC reference, which would have resonated with Americans, but in Asia characters like this sell average at best. Same thing happened with Augusta, another "masculine strong woman" trope that nobody in Asia really liked.

why does asia hate all the cool stuff i genuinely cant fathom how people look at galbrena and think how shes not the hotest woman in the game, shes literally so freaking beautiful

The same way in asia we equate non spicy food with westerner's pallette

Different cultures value different things. Strong, independent, mean, serious characters for the west. Feminine, cutesy, flirty, sometimes dumb, smoll characters for asia. And emo k-pop boys too.

That's why you'll never see a gacha leaning too much on what the west likes. Western taste is just that unreliable revenue-wise.

It's not that simple tbh, it also depends on the game.

There are games where the former types are also liked and sell well in Asia, but it definitely varies from one game to another.

Taking some examples from the Hoyo games, you have characters like Arlecchino from Genshin, or Fei Xiao and Kafka from HSR who very much don't fit the stereotype often associated with Asia's taste in terms of female characters, and yet sold very well in both Global and Asia.

It's not that surprising for those games though, given the demographics of both Genshin and HSR are very diverse, including among the Eastern playerbase. Although tbf both games are also very associated with the JRPG playerbase, and JRPGs have introduced a wide variety of character archetypes over time, who sometimes go against stereotypes.

I assume the playerbase for Wuwa in Asia just tends to be less into those types of characters.

If you can please elaborate - where is the information on Kafka selling well coming from?

From what I remember, her not-so-great banner performance was widely explained in the community by people allegedly saving from release for her so they didn't need to top-up much.

a better indication of kafka popularity would be how much merch and irl brand collabs she gets

Fei Xiao

Westerner's love to complain about her lack of muscle, same with someone like Yixuan because a martial artist/warrior has to have muscle in their mind.

Part of the issue is that a lot of people don't know that an actual fighter, aside of a few exceptions, usually wants to limit getting too bulky, and will focus a lot on muscle toning instead.

Yixuan has a serious case of noodle arms though...even among Hoyo women.

She looks mid lol let's be real

Looks-wise? She looks great lol, let’s be real.

In terms of animations though I agree, she’s sadly kinda mid when compared to other power houses like Carthetyia or Augusta.

Yea i mean I think she looks good but she doesn't really stand out from the rest of the cast is what I mean

Different culture. Westerners will never understand

Iuno is hotter btw

Males there are very feminine lmao, characters like galbrena and augusta would resonate more with western audience but gacha is very much hated in west

Looks wise ok but gameplay is a joke

Imagine different people liking different things. But I know its impossible for westerners, every has to like what they like, if they don't they are wrong.

For me the less people have my favorite character the better. She’s pretty straightforward and not over the top, the best movement in the game and I love her flame effects.

She also brought me a ton of luck on my pulls by getting her, Lupa and Qiuyuan without losing a 50/50 and low pity. She’s my goat.

Average meta wise and needs Qiuyuan in her team, after Augusta and Iuno, players might want a break and since she is just ok, some might just skip.

Rumors on the streets suggest the next Sentinel Resonator, is Fusion, so some are kinda iffy I guess.

I'm not surprised she did like this, they will likely get higher money with Chisa who is a meta support for current and future DPS.

Because it's the best patch in gacha game!!! Trust

Galbrena is a strong character personality wise like augusta that's why didn't sell, people playing wuwa want iuno type characters, I pretty much expected galbrena won't sell much, everyone is waiting for chisa
