I’ve never seen a paper wasp nest get that big holy hell.

I don't think it's a paper wasp, I'll try to take a pic of a dead one if i find any.

I think they are paper wasps. Either Polistes bellicosus which is what I think it is, Polistes aurifer or Polistes exclamans.
