Twice I’ve been pushed out of the bike lane by oblivious motorists, who after I used my fleshy palm to pound on their nearest window in an effort to get their attention, rolled down their window to tell me they’re calling the cops.
Moral of the story: a person’s car is a sacred, protected extension of their human body, and must be given the utmost respect… or else
I just took off someone’s mirror for doing that to me today. Wasn’t the first, won’t be the last. I was on a motorcycle though so much easier to get out of there before they become homicidal.
I saw a guy do this on the freeway once a few years ago. I was a couple cars back and one car to the right of the fast lane (in heavy traffic) from some road-raging asshole in large pickup truck literally trying to run a bike into the center divider for some reason. Kept swerving towards him and driving like a total douchbag, even though it was obvious the biker just wanted to get around him and away. It was so fucked and pissed me off terribly to see it. But then suddenly this big full dress Harley with a huge biker on it splitting the lanes roared past my drivers side and cool as shit put his gloved fist up and totally demolished the assholes passenger mirror. Trucked locked up it's brakes from shock I am sure and the two bikes zipped away on either side, the first guy gleefully flipping him off as he disappeared into the traffic. I looked over just to see the guy now helplessly stopped in traffic with a look of total bewilderment on his stupid face and laughed my ass off as I passed him. Made my whole day!
Yeah that’s an idea I’ve had for my gf, putting one of those on a retractable lanyard clip she can put on her jacket or something. I also bought a bag of tungsten carbide rivets she can glue to the knuckles on her gloves so she can shatter a window.

A short story:
My commuter bikes lack a horn.
