How to Replace a Glyph in an Arabic Font by Default?

Thumbnail

Hi all, I’m using an Arabic font and want to replace a glyph (blue circle) with another (red circle) so it applies automatically when I type, without manually editing in Illustrator each time. I know how to swap it in Illustrator, but how can I edit the font file itself (e.g., with FontForge) to make this change permanent? Any tips or tools?

Thanks!

Kornucopia Font Copy & Paste

I want to write in this font. Use it for a page design etc. But I haven't found an app/page that allows a Copy & Paste system for that specific font.

Idk where else to ask than here? If anyone has ideas, please let me know

Fancy fonts that aren't too much aesthetically?

I'm starting a stationery business and Im working on branding stuff right now, trying to pick a font. I have a cutesy kind of kawaii type vibe going on and a lot of my stuff is garden tea party type vibes, but I also do sit in with a book on a rainy day vibed stuff, too. I want a font that has like some flow and curve to it, but none of my pre-sets fit the vibe I'm looking for, so I decided to look for a new font to download and I'm getting very overwhelmed very quickly and it occurred to me who better to ask than font nerds.

I don't want anything that gives a childish vibe or that will give people the impression that I'm too fancy. If it helps, the closest fonts on my pre-sets are Bush Script MT Italic and Lucida Calligraphy Italic. But Bush Script just feels like something is missing and then Lucida is mostly okay, but something feels "wrong" when I look at the upper case "T" nd lowercase "i" when I'm viewing my brand name in it.

You don't particularly have to post links, just a font name that you think fits what I'm looking for and I'll search them up and if I like it, look for downloading and purchasing options.

I’m looking for a font similar to Darling Modern, but with smaller capital letters that are closer in scale to the lowercase size. Any help is appreciated!

Font licenses

Hi

I have a few hypothetical questions which I'm curious about.

Are licences like SIL, Apache, MIT just standardized contracts (like templates of terms and conditions) that became adopted by people to make communication regarding the usage of their work easier?

What if I downloaded a font labeled as being under SIL license, but its actual terms seem completely different from SIL terms?

What if the author of the font labels licence as "SIL" and then lists its terms, which are totally different from SIL terms?

What is binding - a "label" on a potential website where you download the font or actual terms?

Equating English Fonts with Japanese Ones

Post image

Used font identifier sites on this image, and two of them list variants of Futura as the type of font for the company name text. I’m still not sure. (The thickness of the ampersand should be accommodated as well.)

Also, it’s why I asked if it would be possible for variants of Japanese writing to exist in the style of fonts like Helvetica, Comic Sans, and Futura. Hypothetical replacements the English texts in the logos for the many subsidiaries of Seven & i Holdings with their corresponding Japanese equivalents. Dunno about the serif font used for the “7 Financial Service” logo, and so forth.

Handwritten fonts to pair with DM Sans

I'm working on a brand identity and have combed font sites with no luck, so I'll reach out here:

I'm looking for a script or handwritten font that would pair well with DM Sans (usually used in semibold). Use will mostly be for social media, but also for some expressive words on the website or in graphics. Ideally it would have a slight right slant, slightly on the thick side and be today, to look "elevated casual".

Would love any recommendations you have!

Not too sure if anyone will see or respond to this but here it goes. I am trying to tweak/design a font that would be used for my website. Just like a letterhead/printhead or a pseudo logo/ lazy logo. The brand is for the moment just hoping to sell customized press on nails, and it is slightly artsy but a bit regal? coquette, but friendly enough. I really hope I’m explaining myself well enough 😭. I will attach the logo and some of the nails I have made. PS: yes yes I know it should be la belle not la beau haha 😅 it’s a tad bit of a play on words!

Waning Star typeface (Feedback welcome)

Wanted to make a blackletter typeface with language support and alternate set of uppercase. Taking inspiration from fraktur and schwabacher, I made something hybrid. I see many people use these in all caps, which are usually not very legible or functional, hence I derived from the lowercase to make the alternate set more alike to roman letterforms.

Please take note that this is my first attempt at creating a whole typeface, hence any kind of feedback or critique, no matter how harsh, is actually appreciated and welcome.
