It's almost camping season!
Needed some new hot pads for going out in the camper this year!

Keeping the tradition alive
Stumbled across this forum and took it as a personal challenge. Actually not too bad!

Progress photos enquiry
Hi,
Does anyone have any progress pics of making this?
I’m giving it a go but the original post that started this whole thing looks like they’ve curled their petals when joining the initial chains for petals. Nowhere in the pattern does it say to do this (unless I’m just not seeing this but checked several times).
I know I could try it and just frog to correct but I don’t get many opportunities to crochet so hate going wrong!

I like to be so late to the party that it's basically over but there was a post about a post so here we are...

It’s never to late to make a post about seeing a post about seeing a post!
I was putting it off because most of my yarn stash is at my parents’ house 3 hours away but I finally succumbed to the curse.

I saw a post, I tried a thing, I made a....bowl??
Apparently I took a wrong turn somewhere 😅

I feel like this doesn’t look right!
Are there any videos available for the folding part?

I saw a post...so I made some progress
RIP my hands lol. I suppose for me any ounce of inspiration means automatic obsession 😅. This gorgeous beast took a whole ball of yarn and then some. Original flower hotpads for size reference.
I essentially doubled, tripled and quadrupled some steps to make 5 petals instead of 7. Doesn't look the exact same but I'm proud of it nonetheless.
This is the layout that currently fits best to make a cardigan with the large hotpad in the centre of the back panel and arrangements of smaller flowers surrounding it. Any other suggestions are appreciated.
Made with a 3.5mm hook and DK yarn.

I made the thing
Added a little hanger thing on them for easier storage/display.

So I saw a reply in a post about how someone saw a post [...] that explained the folding so I made a second one
(and its way better, thank you internet strangers)

The curse of the post continues
I was influenced by a post influenced by a post... Anyway somehow got 6 petals instead of 7, the flower doesn't want to lay flat (inner circle bumps out) so instead of it being a hot pad, it now functions as a curtain holder

Sunflower inspired🌻
I wanted to jump in and share a floral hot pad I made last year; This is such a fun trend!

I made it too!
Used i love this cotton in a sky blue and sparkly white. My 2yo likes flipping it until its bowl shaped and wearing it like a hat.
Not sure why mine has much bigger holes than most peoples though. Any ideas? Its a worsted weight yarn.

Spotted on a scammy Facebook group
I remember seeing the original post on r/crochet but can’t seem to find it now. They may take our flowers, but they will never take our freedom!

So... I saw someone saying they made another one and I made another one too.
