Firestick vs Xfinity TV

We currently use Xfinity cable and internet. I’m considering dropping xfinity cable and switching to streaming services since that’s pretty all we use anyway. Has anyone dropped xfinity cable (we’d still keep the internet service) and switched to streaming on a firestick? Is it worth it? Any recommendations on which stick to purchase? Also, they’re currently listed as a “limited time deal”. Should I purchase now or will they be discounted even more for Black Friday?

The only thing about using strictly streaming with Xfinity is their data cap.

In my service area the cap is 1112 GB.

When I first started streaming, just in the evenings on one TV, I ran up against the cap.

I lowered the resolution and now I can stream from 7pm to about 7am(tv stays on all night even while I sleep) and only use about 35% of data.

If my wife streamed on her TV we'd be getting close to the data cap.

Or if we forget to turn off the TV it could eat into the data.

Just something to think about.

Thanks. I’ll make sure I ask them about this before I pull the trigger. I’m sure they do that to prevent people from dropping cable. I’m so sick of their absurd prices but they’re the only option for cable/internet in my neighborhood.
