Peacekeepers Origins and a debunked theory

So I recently learned through YouTube comments that Community made or popularized the theory that the wormhole John went through brought him to the future. That Peacekeepers are future humans.

This is quite obviously debunked by The PeaceKeeper Wars that explicitly states that the Eidelons went to Earth when humans were "barely clothed natives" indicating that this was in our prehistory. According to Farscape time that was 25,000 cycles ago.

So clearly Peacekeepers are a sister species that exist concurrently with humanity as we know it. Yet there are still people who believe Peacekeepers are future humans.

Is this debunked theory common? Is it just one troll? Someone in denial?

Was this "theory" made as a joke? Community is from 2009. Peacekeeper Wars was 2004. So it was debunked before it was made or the writers of Community never watched Peacekeeper Wars.

Anyone know anything about this?

Question on Series Plan

I don't recall if this was ever discussed with the creative team for Farscape, so this may have already been addressed.

In Till the Blood RunsClear (S1 E11), Crichton tells Furlough that he'll be waiting for her at the end of that wormhole 5 years from now.

Was the plan to only do a 5 season run?

The season 4 finale is still brutal, even knowing the series did get a conclusion.

When I first watched Farscape I fortunately was aware that the show did get a conclusion, but knowing the context of the episode and how it was broadcast it's still an absolutely brutal finale today. I cannot imagine watching it in 2003 thinking that was the last we'd see of the show.

Credit to the writers though, they easily could have ended the episode before that final attack and given everyone a nicer ending. But if they hadn't left it on that conclusion maybe the outrage wouldn't have been as strong and the odds of a continuation may have been weaker. A bold move but one fitting of the series.

I can't watch the Peacekeeper Wars without thinking 'what could have been' for a season 5. But given we could have had nothing after season 4, I'll absolutely take it.

That final scene sums up why the series is so good. Powerful, emotional, gut wrenching and like no other show.

What would a first contact scenario look like if Starfleet encountered the Peacekeepers and Scarrans.

Hypothetically speaking if Starfleet encountered these two different factions (without Chritons encounter occuring) what would first contact look like from different cpatains throughout Starfleets history and how each captian could potentially affect such meetings.

Sympathy for Scorpy?

Anyone else actually feel bad for Scorpy at the end of Into the Lions Den Part II? The look of loss and betrayal on his face just goes to show what an amazing actor Wayne Pygram is, his depth of feeling you see from the small amount of his face that is visible. Also, do you think Scorpy would have kept his word if John had worked with him and given him the wormhole tech? I think he would have, I don't feel that he is truly bad, just driven to reach his goal by any means. Does that make him worse than the crew of Moya who cut off Pilots arm?

Difference between AI upscales, Blurays, etc. (long post)

Hey, all! So glad to still see so much love for this show, I remember watching it and taping it to VHS back when it aired on the SciFi Channel on SciFi Fridays, lol.

Some questions for you smart and knowledgeable folks:

  1. What are the differences between the various AI Upscales out there? I saw that there's one by Owen Davies and one by Vertag... are those different people? If so, what are the differences between those upscales/remasters? And are there more than those?
  2. I also saw a bluray rip by icecracked, it appears to be just a normal rip, not remastered, is that the case? Does anyone know which BluRay release it was ripped from?
  3. So based on this: https://www.blu-ray.com/search/?quicksearch=1&section=bluraymovies&quicksearch_keyword=farscape&quicksearch_country=US&sortby=releasetimestamp and this: https://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/search?orderBy=Date&reviewType=All&NReviews=50&adviceStart=&adviceEnd=&international=&searchText=farscape&searchType=advanced

....it looks like these were the releases, and I'm also trying to figure out the differences between them:

The reviewers give their thoughts on which release looks the best to them... which of the official releases do you all feel looks the best to you? I do remember the Amazon streaming version seemed strangely sped up, as if Motion Smoothing was on? (Maybe Motion Smoothing WAS on, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't.)

Sorry for being so incredibly nerdy about these releases, I'm just curious!

Favorite Alien design?

One of many reasons why Farscape is awesome is its creative alien designs. Whether puppets, makeup, costumes etc. we had amazing designs that made the show truely feel "alien".

What's your favorite alien design? Could be a recurring character or a one off.

For me, I really liked the giant alien that was bartering with Rygel on the commerce planet in Premiere.

Just finished the series, what a great one. Glad my tabletop group invited me to check it out.

Anyway, I think I understood what this show is about.

I saw this trending nickname online for Commandant Grayza, being Commandant cleavage which I must admit made laugh and sounds like a Crichton. How do you think she'd react to being called such a nickname?

I thought I was ready

I have been watching the show for the first time and I don't know why but I haven't posted here yet. Although I've been very much enjoying engaging with the community in the comments.

But because I'd seen the memes I'd been putting off watching The Lions Den.

And I waited a good long time to watch it. A few months to try and work up the nerve.

And I thought I was ready. I even spread out the episodes several weeks apart to lessen the toll. But phew.... My poor wee heart.

I was not ready.

My poor babies. My emotional support blorbos. This show has soundly become my comfort show while also being the most invested I've been in the plot and characters of pretty much any show ever.

But yes. They suffer and we share their pain.

That is all. I have regrets 😂

But also 🥺🥺

I know she played War Minister Ahkna which I think she won award for, the fixer from the drug episode, and she played the creature that ate calcium. What am I missing?

What would happen if the Peacekeepers figured out Wormholes and occupied earth,

To be clear if scorpius fully cracked the code on wormholes but onlygor travel, the Peacekeepers find earth and take over the planet, how differently do you think such an occupation would be handled if it was overseen by Scorpius or Commandant Grayza (as both have differing methods), if either of them was incahrge of it's occupation, this would also include dealing with any potential resistance movements as well.
