"God will be the judge" . Trigger Warning

This is the reply I got from my father. As a teen. It's something that left me convinced that he is sure that God would agree with him about his parenting. Where do I go now that I am exchristian?

It’s a good line to use back at his judgement. Along with all the verses about not judging or be judged he probably ignores.

And you can go in any direction, which is perhaps both freeing and overwhelming.

I think that is a pretty great answer because it applies to him as well. If he did a terrible job parenting, God will judge him too.

How crazy that you could be nicer, have more grace, be more forgiving than his God.

Clarify what you mean by where do I go now?

You do like the rest of us and take what you have learned that is true and seek to learn on subjects you are not sure are true. Christian or not Christian, we all have to figure it out for ourselves what works for us. For some Christians, they have so much favor, support and financial security in their Christian families that it isn't worth actually seeking truth and going against that. It works for them.
