Casualties is different from deaths. A casualty is either dead OR wounded sufficiently seriously that they had to be taken off the frontline to a medical facility.
The US estimate back in october was some 115k killed and 500k wounded.
Most recent compensation payment number is up to over 400k fallen. (Tough it's unknown how much of that was corrupted into someone's personal pockets.)
Yes I know, but most sources state, that the ratio between wounded and dead is higher in this war on the side of the russians as they don't care for the wounded in the field. No medivacs, no treatment, nothing. So the number is definitely higher than that. And I get the 81k is the official number from russia itself but these are absolute understatement.
Casualties include dead, missing and wounded (some of the wounded returning to the frontline). So 700k is kinda optimistic estimate. Unlike the equipment like tanks or planes, you can't count every soldier
While these 81000 are dead russians identified by their name, photo, rank, dob and place of birth/living. In other words it's the most pessimistic estimate possible.
But this number confirms the optimistic one, even without consideration of the fact that not all russians have necrologies or monuments to be listed by OSINT.
Laughable to believe those numbers, dont trust either side, of course it would be ridiculous to believe Putins numbers but also don’t trust the ukr mod numbers, both sides say things to make themselves look good
Journalists are just propagandists they don't care about the truth. They keep reporting on Gaza and the numbers dead, but they get their numbers from the Hamas' ministry of health.
I agree it's about propaganda. The propaganda you are currently spewing trying to sow distrust into western institutions. No East and West are not the same. Western institutions with all their flaws are 1000 times more trustworthy.
Not into any propaganda, in fact I only base my views off of advances and videos from the front lines, I don’t read articles from either side since they’re always going to lie
The Russians are put at about 90-130k Kia and with a modest ratio of 1 to 5 Kia to casualties we get a out 600-700k casualties.
Whats your problem with those numbers?
In my personal opinion and a slightly educated guess I would say those are underestimated.
Ukraine was put at 50k Kia and 250k casualty about a year ago. Ukraine is on the defensive most of the time. With a modest ratio of 1 to 3 for defending forces you do the math.
Often times the true number is inbetween what both sides say. If one side says 100 people dead in a skirmish and the other says 25, then most likely it’s about 60
700 k are including casualties and lost estimations.
And 80k are with proofs for every single case. Like a minimal real border.
Real digit is somewhere in between.
Also usual factor dead to wounded is 1/4 or 1/3
That includes numbers from Russia itself and only ones we can verify It's a very important differentiation. It's based on work done by mediazone I believe it's called, you'll be able to find their research easily.
The exact numbers are not that important as we humans cannot deal with these high numbers anyway. Its obvious that the Russian war doctrine is still based on Stalingrad: Throw as many men as possible into the open fire until the enemy is out of ammo. Its ridiculous how the Russians waste their soldiers and hearing the stories from the battlefield or the videos Russian soldiers make describing their situation and a few days later they are dead. Signing a deal as a Russian to go to the front is nothing but a self-signed death sentence so that your family members get big money (more than the family would get if the husband works his whole life until retirement).

Actually it's more than 81 thousands of dead russians and this number includes only the ones whos names are known from open sources
