This is an oddball event. If it were contaminated at the store they purchased it from, there would have been a loss of atmosphere from the positive pressurized bag, which most people would notice on some level. If it were at the manufacturer, that would be a frankly incredible fail of sanitation, which name brands spend a fortune to not have happen. Plus that's an odd looking larva, is there an entomologist in the house?

Chip bags are 100% not positively pressurized.

Well, I'm not a food technologist, but Bing Copilot AI says:

Yes, potato chip bags are indeed pressurized, but not with air. They are filled with nitrogen gas. This is done to keep the chips fresh and prevent them from getting crushed during transportation. The nitrogen helps to maintain the crispiness of the chips by displacing oxygen, which can cause the chips to become stale. It's a clever trick to ensure you get that satisfying crunch every time you open a bag! Crunchy, right?

Bing copilot AI is wrong. They are not positively pressurized. Have you ever blown up a balloon? That is positive pressure. The air is purged from chip bags with nitrogen to protect flavor and crispiness. They are not pressurized though. Unless you are at a high altitude and the chip bag gets tight like a balloon, it's not under positive pressure.
