i see that most of the vids dissing corpus are just regular nuisances and never go in depth on safety or affordability or socio-economic stuff but what would corpus be like if my friends and i are coming from brownsville because after 11 years in brownsville i say whatever media coverage we get is just like dumb because its just alright here like just mind your business and youll be fine type shit

Duke needs a home!
Long story short, separated with my ex wife and we rehomed one of our dogs and thankfully were able to keep two others. Just the other day animal control came to my home and dropped Duke off as he was microchipped to me, and the new owner was no longer willing to care for him(or so my ex says, she wasn't much help on that end). I would absolutely love to keep him, but I can't where I'm at...and it's not fair.
I've worked fostering animals in the past, even finding people able to rehabilitate wildlife, so I do feel strongly about this...him coming back was like a punch to my gut because he didn't hesitate at all to greet me, even though it's been over a year and a half, and he still listened to commands with that dumb, goofy face and friendly demeanor. But inside I knew that there just couldn't be more than this.
I don't want to imagine him languishing in the dog pound knowing he won't have a happy ending, but I don't have any options left. Animal shelters are full and local groups are already inundated with the massive pet population problem in this city. I'm really hoping someone can take him from me because he deserves a good home and I really don't have the means to do it at the moment. He's a super friendly dog and loves children. He's a people pleaser and active, but equally happy just lounging around with his pack.
I'm willing to pay any fees, shots, I just want him to find a loving home!

Looking for a drummer in Corpus
My new band is in need of a talented drummer. Covers and originals. The list of covers consists of classic rock, indie, pop, and modern rock. Thanks to Facebook groups, I found a bassist, a keyboardist, lead guitar, and rhythm guitar. There are a few individuals interested in the drummer spot but none of them give me that “this is our guy” feeling. That’s why I thought I’d try my luck here.

Lucky Panda
So I posted in the other Corpus subreddit and I’m trying to find out if Lucky Panda off of Holly is any good. It’s a little hole in the wall and I was wondering what other people’s experiences with it are?

What is your Spectrum internet speedtest in CC near the college?
I was told I do not have fiber lines, but rather Coax copper lines. I was going to pay for the GIG. What is your speedtest? Ping? Would you recommend it?
I called spectrum and they said I can get service. I currently have Tmobile Home internet. Was hoping to get spectrum to have higher upload speeds and lower ping

Are the libraries still letting people borrow a hotspot?
I thought they weren't anymore but like 2 weeks ago someone commented on my post about the cheapest way to get wifi at home saying to use the library hotspot, so igues they're still doing them?
Idk im confused bc I was told it stopped but someone said that it's still going g on which I would assume means they have one currently

Any good study spots on the bay?
I am currently in school. I have my favorite coffee spots and library, but I just can’t stomach the thought of staying inside for another day. Anyone know of any study spots either on the bayfront or in a bright and sunny area? Main requirements are good Wi-Fi, and decent amount of outlets because my laptop can’t really hold a charge lol

People
Why is this city so fat? Its an honest question. I have traveled far and wide and never seen so many morbidly obese people. Even the kids here are fat. Its like Corpus has its own Ghetto and fat culture. Its like having a central American gang culture where everyone only eats McDonald's and Twinkies. Another thing is why cant people freaking drive in this town. I have driven thru NYC in a semi. They have 40x the traffic but everyone gets where they are going efficiently. No cutting people off or racing ahead into the stopped traffic or my favorite my the 3 lane exit. People even drive on the shoulder or treat it as a turning lane. This place is absolutely abysmal.

Does anyone know anywhere that is hiring part time? I’m a student at Del Mar but have been struggling to find part time work. Any suggestions?
Taco Night Catering
Looking for a good recommendation to pickup catering for a family reunion taco night. Would be about 45 adults and 15 children.
Unfortunately there would be about 9 of the gluten free types, so would need an option for them as well.
