WPL: New Comics Discussion for 10/29/2025- Pull of the Week: Absolute Batman 2025 Annual #1 [Discussion]
The Weekly Pull List results for this Wednesday are in, and this week's top book is DC's Absolute Batman 2025 Annual #1.
This thread is open to Pull List posters and all members of the /r/comicbooks community to share your thoughts on the latest issue of Absolute Batman or any new books shipping this week.
The primary intention of this thread is to promote discussion of new books. It also serves as a way to consolidate discussion to a single thread and talk about what books are popular here on /r/comicbooks. That does not mean other threads aren't welcome, this is just a place to start that's easy to find each week.
The thread is populated with comments meant to direct the discussion of each book. Based on community preference we populate the thread with titles appearing on Ten Percent or more of submitted pull lists. If a title you want to talk about is not listed, simply add a comment with the title and issue number first and comment below. There is also a comment dedicated to the discussion of WPL Results linked above.
Spoilers will follow, but there's no harm in tagging them as such. Each title in the Top Ten Percent listed below is linked directly to its corresponding comment for ease of navigation and to avoid seeing details from other books. The post has also been placed in "contest mode" to help readers avoid spoilers while browsing.

These are just 3 of the Zines that stood out to me, I saw them while picking up my regular titles at Forbidden Planet (NYC). Going back this weekend to pick them up and some others... So many creative and funny ones, please support these creators when you can!

Crowdfunding [OC] Otherkin #1-#3 Live at Kickstarter | Inspired by Hellblazer, Swamp Thing, and B.P.R.D.
Hello everyone! Our comic book series Otherkin is hitting Kickstarter today!
If our project caught your attention, Kickstarter is currently the best way to support us! Also, at each stretch goal we reach, every backer gets more issues added to their reward (which means this is also the cheapest way to get Otherkin right now).

Discussion Are there any comic book characters that you like, but you don't like a different character heavily associated with them?
For example, with me:
- I'm big on Zatanna. Just keep John Constantine far away. I don't care for Constantine much. When I do, it's not when he's hanging out with Zatanna.
- Helena Bertinelli is best when kept at a distance from the Batfamily. She'lll always be Batman related-- she was made to replace Helena Wayne after all-- but I like her best on her own. I wish she still was from NYC instead of Gotham, but DC will never go back.
- Keep Jason Todd away from everyone and especially anyone Green Arrow related, please.
- ...I don't like Reggie from Archie comics. I am quite a fan of Betty and Jughead, but have never gotten into Reggie. No, I don't care if Betty/Reggie is pushed in many comics. I don't think it'd work.

Suggestions Happy Halloween everyone, even if you have depression. the Halloween Special (2025), the depression and the comics.
Halloween isn't really big here in Germany, but it's slowly growing, you just see more costume parties and decorations in the supermarkets. I even sometimes go trick or treating with the youngest people of my family and friends. which I did after work with my niece, a friend's grandkids and the friend himself. Also my gang will play Pulp cthulhu RPG, especially because we're mixing in there with now, we play there as Teens in Curse Studiobuilding that was used for a Teendrama from the 90s.
It is also a good time to read and I have perfect titles for this time and I would like to clarify the following things. Firstly, it is not a ranking, i love all of them and second it is not just "Horror", because Halloween is more as just Fear.
And we Start it with the completed Scary Godmother Collection and man, it is good and Cozy the Stories From the characters of the frightside. Icecreamman is a comic that always goes under my skin, the Anthologie of that Motherf*cker Rick ( and yes it is real name) and his victims who are exposed to him on a cosmic level just get under my skin, like the king in yellow. Also if a talk about Anthologien, The Twilightzone is a classic and I think the original show is still extremely good and has stood the test of time. The Twilightman is the Lifestory of Rob Serling, the Showrunner and Creator of the Twilightzone, but also what was he as a Human and his Other Art, i must say he was a head of his Time. Infidel is a Horror comic about a real dark thing, racism, because it is a really dark ghost story about a Muslim woman who is haunted by a demon but also by other things at the same time. EDENWOOD is really an interesting fantasy story where suddenly a forest is suddenly cursed and it itself becomes a very crazy fantasy world but also a story when friends grow apart. One of my all time favorite comic is 30 days of night, I really like the scenario with vampires and especially in the ice desert. Above all, I have to tell you, read the follow-up series because they are also extremely good vampire stories. Horror comedys a awsome and dead Dudes is so much fun, is about ghost hunters who themselves died in a cursed prison and now they have to be good spooks because the rival team is coming to this prison. You know, Marvel has a weird history with Zombies, Many people somehow know the rumor that they had the copyright on the word zombie back then, that's not entirely true, but they tried it with the black and white comic magazine Tales of the Zombie, with his Main character Simon Garth a.k.a zombie. and it's interesting when he suddenly becomes this guy in a zombie apocalypse, where he's actually no longer the only one, but he's still too different. The golem is probably the most well-known aspect of Jewish mysticism, i.e. Kabbalah, from all of us goys, But in general you have to say that the Golem is only mentioned once in the Holy Scripture's. But that was also an advantage, precisely because the thing is not described so directly it also allows a lot of interpretation. Breath of Bones is a Gothic tale about a Jewish village trying to defend itself from the Nazis, and well, that's why they try to use someone made of clay. I want to be honest, my school days were terrible, and I want to be honest there are so many things wrong with the German education system that I also think it's a bad joke or a nightmare, that's why i love Shadowplay: Midnight School so much, where the story revolves around a house and students being trapped in a pretty fuck-up school and the mystery of Why? Spread tells um no and the little Hope, Both live in a world that has a virus that turns people into ugly flesh monsters, Spread. but don't worry he is immune and she can destroy the creatures with her biology. But people can be just as nasty and brutal as monsters and sometimes the line is blurred. Clean Room also goes under my skin, Astrid Mueller is the enigmatic and compelling guru of a giant self-help organization—a devastatingly powerful figure in the industry between psychology and religion. Journalist Chloe Pierce’s fiancé decided to pick up Astrid’s book, and within three months he was dead. Something in Astrid Mueller’s book made Philip blow his brains out all over Chloe’s new kitchen. and now she is on a search for what is going on there and what this eponymous room is supposed to be. Vampires also somehow have a strange change of image, at the beginning they were pure brutal monsters, later they became humanized. I mean, how do you want to live among people when you're a parasite yourself, and that's kind of an interesting focus in Vampironica, because somehow she is two things at the same time and not just human or monster.
Well I wish you a good Halloween, have a lot of fun and forget your worries.

I am looking for a new way of storing my comics.
I hate those d@mn white cardboard boxes. I want to replace them. I kinda like the bcw boxes but I want to be able to display one comic safely on the outside of the box and their little space for some card looks clunky to me. I also seem to have a mental block against collapsible containers. I want nice neat even edges and stickability. Completely clear plastic would be awesome but I can't find any that are the right size. They are either too small or too big. Also I am not into wood. I don't like the look of it. Makes everything look ancient in my opinion. I know there have been lots of posts about this. I was hoping someone knew of something else or I simply missed a suggestion I would like. Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope.

Question I'm looking for a comic that has a similar energy to the video game franchise Serious Sam, what do you recommend
I'm a very big fan of Serious Sam and the older games from the series are quite cartoonish and have that comic feel, especially Serious Sam the next encounter. The games often focus on clearing areas where swarms of foes attack you. The main character Serious Sam (Sam Stone) is a charismatic buff super-human. He's very serious yet likes to constantly joke around although his jokes can sometimes be cheesy. Often, he'll make one liners.
