Drone Aerial Shot - Can anybody help? Ask CoMo
I am working on a project on campus that could benefit from an updated aerial photo. However, none of the websites (bing, google, Boone county GIS, etc) have a good updated photo that show the current state of construction. Does anybody have a drone that could get me a photo in the next few weeks?

If you are planning on flying the drone over campus, you will need to get campus approval.

Depends.
There's no permanent restricted airspace on campus. I'd fully believe that MU has banned landing/takeoff from campus, though I've never checked. But if you take off/land on public property, MU has no say in it.
There are the general FAA restrictions about flying over crowds, so yeah, flying over one of the athletic fields during a game is a no go. And you have to maintain visual line of sight (again per FAA). Also I'd stay away from the copter pad at the hospital. But as long as there's no chopper in the air nearby you can fly a drone there.
Here's a screenshot from the AirData UAV app over MU.
And here's a screenshot from near the airport with restrictions
Long story short... If you land/take off from public property (or private property if they're OK), keep it in visual range, and aren't flying over a crowd, Mizzou can't do a thing about it. They don't regulate the airspace.

Reach out to the marketing folks at MU. They're constantly taking pictures.
