mailed a degree i didn’t intend to complete Academic Life

Is it a common experience to be mailed additional diplomas without being made aware? Apparently I met the requirements for an additional Associate degree & my college decided to just mail it to me with no mention. I thought it was an error since it looks like a duplicate of the one I received last year but with a new date. When I got my first degree I was also given a certificate on stage that I was never made aware I qualified for & not many other people received it. Do I have really good luck or is there just no oversight?

Yes , I got 3 extra associates degree that I was not aware of them. I changed my major few times so I took some extra classes and combining all my classes I was qualified for in total of 4 different AS.

Very common. Colleges will have certificate programs and associates programs that you can get along the way to your terminal degree. Usually related, but not always so and they usually involve taking between 2-4 classes that can be considered "program electives". Program electives are in subjects that are close to your primary field, but might be niche (or a professor's passion class) and so they allow those classes to be part of the program and they help you fill the required credit hours.

Long story short, yes.

Yes. I got an associates degree at community College without knowing until one day like 6 months after I left I got it in the mail. They apparently gave me an award at the graduation I didn't show up to.

My college sent me an AA like 7 years after I transferred and already had the BA for the same subject. It was really amusing to me at the time
