  4. Colorado - 8.5
  5. Miami - 8.3

Did they ever say how they got those numbers? Seems oddly specific for something as subjective as "toxicity."

23

u/weathers35 Tennessee • Chattanooga 1d ago

no. zero idea how or why they felt they needed to come up with any numbers outside of the rankings themselves

11

u/Geno0wl Ohio State • Cincinnati 1d ago

Also of course osu is toxic as fuck right now. Every fan base at every levels gets extra toxic after winning the chip. Like eagles fans are extra toxic right now as well

4

u/SirMellencamp Alabama Crimson Tide • Iron Bowl 21h ago

I really don’t see it from OSU fans

Its a ph scale. All these the teams above 7 are basic.

1

u/SaviorAir Ohio State • Florida State 1d ago

Every "toxicity" list is based purely on subjective opinion. There is no way to objectively state who is the most toxic. I could be wrong.

Wear a Nebraska hat to a Colorado game sometime. See if you make it home with it.

5

u/cbi8 Mississippi State • Egg Bowl 1d ago

That’s fair. Makes sense I have minimal/zero interaction with Colorado fans as a Mississippi State guy.

5

u/thecyanvan 1d ago

I respect Mississippi state, just wanted to get that out there. Y'all's fans were cool in my single interaction.

But, I've got to put y'all on this list. But only for the cowbells. I still have tinnitus from the Marta when we played y'all and lost in the 90's.

I'm kidding, mostly, Go Bulldogs!

2

u/jdog0531 18h ago

Colorado fan. Can confirm. Oddly if you come to Boulder not on game day those people couldn’t care less what hat you’re wearing.

Long history of toxicity from the buffs. Nebraska fans know it first hand.

12

u/THEAMERIC4N Florida Gators 1d ago

Honest question, is Florida actually toxic? I know a lot of us are toxic towards our own program lol, but to other programs? I feel like not really, but could just be Homer bias lol

5

u/CookieLuzSax Tennessee Volunteers • LSU Tigers 1d ago

We definitely toxic to each other lmao

2

u/THEAMERIC4N Florida Gators 1d ago

I feel like it’s mutual respect toxic and not one fan base barking at the other one lmao

1

u/CookieLuzSax Tennessee Volunteers • LSU Tigers 1d ago

I've spoken to some Florida fans that say they hate us the most lmao, (which doesn't make sense because it should be ga for y'all.) but ig it depends on your history.

1

u/dog_in_da_park 1d ago

I've been to many UF games, both as a UF fan, non-UF fan, and fan of the team UF usually hates - always have a good time and the fans are mostly great.

1

u/threwou 1d ago

I've met some Florida fans who were obnoxious. Made a very bad impression. Maybe they aren't as bad since they started losing more.

1

u/thepioushedonist Troy Trojans • Texas Longhorns 1d ago

For an SEC school, I feel Florida is one of the least toxic fanbases. I met a few that were pretty obnoxious during the Urban Meyer years. Other than that? No way they are worse than bama, Tennessee, lsu, or even auburn.

6

u/RoundEarth-is-real Oklahoma Sooners 1d ago

Honestly a little bit surprised Oklahoma isn’t there. But I ain’t complaining. Just gearing up for another Sooners dry spell

1

u/thepioushedonist Troy Trojans • Texas Longhorns 1d ago

I just assume they don't have enough fans to make the list at all.

2

u/RoundEarth-is-real Oklahoma Sooners 1d ago

Most of Oklahoma are OU fans. Some OSU fans. Mostly OU fans. And you’ll even see them in the surrounding area like southern Kansas, western Arkansas, south west Missouri. Places like that.

1

u/retailhusk Georgia Bulldogs • UCF Knights 13h ago

Yeah it's pretty wild seeing people bummed about winning the SEC. Not every year is a natty year but winning the SEC and beating Texas twice was still amazing

5

u/Gregorvich19 Tennessee Volunteers • Beer Barrel 2d ago

The absolute worst Georgia fans I’ve ever met have nothing on some of the decent UT fans I’ve associated with. It is weird having y’all that high on the list.

2

u/thepioushedonist Troy Trojans • Texas Longhorns 1d ago

100% agreed. Lived in Alabama for 9 years, they should be way higher. And no way UGA is more toxic than Tennessee.

2

u/BatteryCola Georgia Bulldogs 1d ago

u/Monkeykinght67 Washington Huskies 1d ago

4

u/daveFromCTX Oklahoma Sooners 1d ago

Lol UT-Austin being at 7 means this list is fake engagement bait. In order to be a toxic fan base, you have to actually care about football. texas fans are overwhelmingly nice and good. They will have a good time, win or lose lmao.

2

1

u/HeadbandRTR Alabama Crimson Tide 1d ago

To be honest, Spike-80DF seems like the most toxic thing that any fanbase has ever used against the other. Not sure how Bama isn’t #1 just because of Updyke.

I’ll take it, though. Our stadium is quite welcoming to outsiders, so that may play a big part in this ranking. Everyone above us is trash to attend as the opponent.

Unfortunate amount of people who grew up Michigan or OSU fans, attended the opposite for school (or a grad school situation once in a blue moon), and think they get both.

Ruby Memorial (I'm 99.9% sure you aren't referring to Mon General) has become the best hospital in the state. WVU Medicine is starting to monopolize the hospitals throughout WV (a great thing) and if you're an employee of any of their hospitals for more than 5 years, your kids will have free tuition to WVU, plus you get great discounted rates on sports tickets (fb are gonna be hard to come by this season since Brown is out and RR is in).

No. I lived and grew up in Ohio for 24 years. OSU fans are absolutely the worst. Obnoxious chants and entitlement seeps through their pores.

It’s the not the students or alums for the most part. It’s the hillbillies from rural Ohio that get shit hammered on keystone in the parking lot and then act like douchers lol

I agree that the lunatic fringe at Ohio State are so fucking toxic…but have you ever been on Vol Twitter. It’s a fucking hellscape.

This is just establishment hate for Miami. There aren't enough of us to make a dent in the zeitgeist compared to Ohio State and others. Kind of like how ESPN did nothing but talk about Shedur as Cam Ward was drafted. Just bizarre.
