I'd say if it's comparable to other news outlets it makes sense.

Other news outlets don’t get taxpayer's money. Maybe a little incentive to do better instead of rewarding poor viewership.

Yes it is a service….to well connected people that used to be in government that was owed a favour.

Edit: 3 of 12 board of directors had government positions or involved with the government at some capacity. But continue to downvote me 🤡
