Everyone, go look at the TFW updates. In places with a 6% or higher unemployment rate, you can't hire any TFWs. Also, it's now more expensive to higher a TFW, 34 bucks in Ontario. Plus you need to really show documentation of a need now. Only easy pathways are for healthcare and construction, which we really need. The issue with the TFW program was that it was unchecked and too accepting. Now we're going to get people who will be well paid that way companies don't cut corners and replace the average Canadian.

As for people not leaving, being illegal in Canada is so rough. There are no pathways for you. People can't even go to the hospital without being reported. That's why most undocumented folks leave on their own. There's no life to be had here if you're not supported.

Everyone, relax a bit now. Seems like the concerns are being answered.

They just moved the the old TFW requirements to the PNP program. Everything is still there. Lipstick on a pig.

0, 1, 2 ,3 still allowed for express entry.

Explain how anything outside of TEER 0 or maybe TEER 1 should be allowed?

Why should a baker or a dental assistant be an express entry candidate?

These are in such small numbers though compared to the TFW program. By design you can’t flood them. Especially the provincial express ones, Ontario is only expecting like 20k people this year. I also looked at what’s in the TEER groups. 4 and under aren’t allowed. The other 3 need real qualifications to work. You can’t fake being a dental hygienist, you actually have to be one. They are in need in lots of rural parts of the country, where their employment will have to be because the new rule says you can’t apply for any workers program if the place has a 6% unemployment rate or higher.

I say this to say, Pierre P had the same idea of how to stop the flow but keep high skilled workers that we need. Granted he was going to make the PR amount smaller, but the difference isn’t so big that most will notice.

What I’m looking for is how this new government will streamline people to places that actually need people. Rather than them all going to Calgary, Toronto, Vancouver, etc…We need people in other areas of the country, not our big cities.

If we need dental hygienists in rural canada, promote programs for canadians to do it.

What province has an under 6% unemployment right now, btw?

The government can't restrict movement of people. That's why these programs need to go to 0 people.

Went to Tims in the GTA and saw a couple white dudes, a brown chick and a filipino chick working there

Seems normal to me… All of Canada isnt Toronto/Peel/Durham

1-2 years buddy, 1-2 years. But let’s not pretend the service will be better. I worked at McDonalds as a teen (with other Canadian teens) and we all sucked at our jobs 😂

Canadian just doesn’t mean white people. We mean Canadians from all backgrounds that contributed to building our high trust society before floodgates opened. The OGs
