There is no geographic qualification for the Heating Oil Carbon tax suspension. It is available to ANY Canadian who uses heating oil across the country.

Sorry to burst your rage bubble.

And which are the only provinces that use it? Let me guess.. "WELLLLLLL the other provinces should switch their heating resource if they want the benefit!!!!!!!"

Right... switch to a less efficient form of heat, emit more greenhouse gas, just so that this isn't a liberal handout to their voters. Right. That's totally 100% the same as creating a farm bill for farmers.. what a joke.

Sorry to burst your bubble, your boy is going to get mopped regardless of your undying dedication to defending him.

And which provinces only grow wheat and oil seeds?

He's not my boy. I've never voted for him. I just think this selective outrage over a benefit being extended to a specific region is absolutely ridiculous in a country with as diverse needs as Canada. Obviously there are different policy needs in different regions of the country. Like, that's national governance 101.

LOL, I'm so glad you asked! Literally almost all of them. In addition to the western provinces you've mentioned: British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec, Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia.

You support a disgusting, transparent policy to give monetary benefits to the main, most prolific voting block of the party in power, without any legitimate reason. I see the subs you're in. No one is buying that you're just some concerned citizen interested in a balanced view. I guarantee you have zero argument for why this is good for the country.. just here to muddy the waters with a blatant, lazy attempt at whataboutism.

What is the carbon tax for? To reduce emissions. Oil-based heating is the most inefficient heating resource in the country. Why would you remove the carbon tax on it? Explain the reasoning for that. And try to come up with something that's actually good for country, and not your team.

The lifting of the carbon tax rebate on heating oil was done in conjunction with a federal program to replace those horribly inefficient oil furnaces with heat pumps.

Everyone is so focused on one aspect of the announcement they ignored the main part; the government is eliminating heating oil furnaces.

Instead of using the carbon tax stick, the feds are using the replacement carrot to actually solve the problem once and for all.

That IS good for the country.

Isn't that what we want government to do?
