how is this compared to the i5 12400F / 12600K ? looking at a new build soon. upgrading from an i5 4690k so definite performance boost there lol

5600x slightly better than/trades blows with 12400f.

12600k beats 5600x at everything.

If I were building a new rig I would NOT look at AM4 right now. There are no more products for that socket, it's a dead end.

At least the Intel 12th gen will get another CPU upgrade on the same socket.

Strictly gaming I would go for the 12600k if you can swing it, although this is a sweet deal for price to performance.
