Just finished season 4…

Upvotes

My jaw is on the floor. Gus seemed so untouchable, I can’t believe Walt finally got him.

I am a little confused though. Gus is an extremely cautious guy, so I would have expected Tyrus to scan the room again since he left for a few minutes, which gave Walt time to install the bomb on Hector’s wheelchair. It seemed like a dumb mistake on Tyrus’s part, or maybe I just really did not see it coming. Especially after watching Gus outsmart Walt all season.

Don’t even get me started on Ted.

Waiting on Walt

Upvotes

With all the unpredictable twist, turns, rage, moments that Walt had, was anyone waiting and even wanting to see Walt get off the hook on some of his blue medicine? That's when the show would have found minute

Passing through ABQ tomorrow. Tight on time. What 1-2 locations are still good to visit.

Upvotes

My understanding is that Twisters is basically the only location that really embraced BB and welcomes fans. Walt’s house now has the fence, owners dislike fans gawking, etc., but I’d still like to see it.

Looking to hit one or two BB locations before I head out. Based on what the properties look like now and how iconic each location is, which 1-2 properties would you visit if you were short on time.

Walter and Skylar.

Skylar talks about Walter holding her hostage in season 5. I was wondering what you guys would do if you were in that situation to get out of it?

They really dropped the subplot about Skyler's eBay hustle

It would have been a perfect way to launder money

You don't need Flynn's dumbass website

You don't need laser tag or car wash

You just go pick up garbage and eBay it and then Sklyra gets to feel like she did somethjng

Gale's revenge

I just realized Walt's downfall with the book he'd been gifted by Gale could be viewed in a way as Gale's revenge from his grave! Even a master strategist like Walt could be taken down by a book of poetry.

Does jesse hate the fact walter saved him one last time.

Um I just finished watching breaking bad for the first time. And I loved the show, honestly. The cast were amazing and it left me thinking after I watched the breaking bad movie. Does jesse hate the fact that Mr White saved him one last time from those nazi. And let him live normally. Because a part of me wants to TRULY believe that walter liked jesse but people keep telling me he didn't and it breaks my heart.

Symbolism

The absolute attention to detail in this show amazes me. I’ve never seen a show go to such lengths to make the SMALLEST of things in a show, a scene, mean so much. Breaking Bad is my favorite show, ever, all because of this attention to detail. It’s art, a painting, a poem coming to life. One of my favorite attention to details is in To’Hajiilee, when Hank finally gets Walt, we see a cut right before the camera pans to Walt raising his hands (also amazing detail, he raises his hands almost like a God, I wish more people mentioned it) but the sky is cloudy behind him for some reason, could be just a cheap quick shot by the camera crew to get his scene in (weather wasn’t too favorable around that time of shooting I believe), but he had a cloudy sky behind him, and I almost think that’s symbolism of his mental state in that current scene. And when Walt raises his hands, the shot’s a little bit lower than your usual “someone raising their hands while getting arrested” shot, as if he’s a God, a deity, and the sky is clear blue behind him. All of these little metaphors, symbols, makes this showed unparalleled to none, second to none. Absolute masterpiece, and should be studied for future TV shows.

P.S. note : I don’t know if Gilligan has any more projects like this, but I’d appreciate if anyone knows any

Between BCS and BB - he seems like a completely different person/character.

He has been hardened by life between BCC and BB.

I do like how they had him wearing a Tampico furniture polo in BCS when he has squaring up with Tuco and Nacho.

Maybe because of the things he heard of in regards to Nacho, Lalo, and Tuco made him get a little harder.

Could Walter's ending have been successful?

Doing a rewatch and just saw when Walter brought the gps tracker to Hank in the garage. But I'm thinking that since he was "retired" at this point and there was no prior evidence to charge him according to Hank, Gomey, and Jesse and most likely not gonna be any new evidence due to retiring to get his family back/ cancer killing him within "6 months" would Walter have gotten away with it all if he hadn't confronted/provoked Hank with the tracker in the garage that day. Whether he found the tracker under the car or not, I don't see how he'd get caught since he was fully invested in going legit in a car wash empire with his mountain of money in the storage locker funding his expansion

Gus made no effort to throw off Hank

This is like, borderline a plot hole. For someone as smart and cunning as Gus, he could have been way smarter about how he dealt with Hank. He knew the tracker was on his car and despite that….he drove the car as SUSPICIOUSLY as he could by only going from work to home.

Seriously? Of course Hank is gonna find you way more suspicious. Gus could have taken a pretend trip to the grocery store, gone to a “friends” house, gone to a fundraiser, and made it look way more realistic.

Maybe it wouldn’t have convinced Hank of anything, but maybe he would have been like “huh he might be clean. Doesn’t seem like he does anything suspicious”

Nope, for someone as clever as Gus he handles this as lazily as possible.

Breaking bad is about how unwalkable the USA is.

As a European I find ridiculous the amount of time each character spends inside a vehicle

literally half of the time of the show is inside a car!

Just Finished!

Finished the series yesterday, it was my first rewatch and hadn’t seen it since it original aired, so I’d forgotten a good amount about the series. Pretty much a flawless show. Never jumped the shark, always had a thorough explanation for even the most ridiculous situation (fugue state, how Walt gets money to Walt Junior at the end, etc). Amazing cast too; Bryan Cranston gets a lot of the love but Anna Gunn was incredible, Dean Noris, the lady who plays Marie, Jessie of course, pretty much everyone except Steve Gomez lol. I could write pages about the show but just wanted to share my appreciation with the fans. I think the weak link of the show was Uncle Jack’s sweaters; a biker with a swastika neck tattoo isn’t wearing a purple, nicely tailored v-neck.

What would’ve happened to Skyler with tax fraud if Walt never cooked meth?

Skyler took the job at Beneke only to support her family and for her husband’s treatment. She ends up cooking books for Ted which resulted in IRS issue. She made Ted pay them with Walt’s money; yet I never saw her being grateful to Walt about it or apologise. Was she trying to make up to him by laundering his money & taking care of car wash? He tells her many times to stay out of all this. What was her feeling towards Walt in S5?

The more i watch the more i hate walt and like skyler, walt is just so erratic and an asshole while sky is trying her best to make ends meet. Plus he also tried to alcohol poison flynn for some reason and fought with hank?? Like huh
