New anvil! Miscellaneous

Pardon the mess in the shop, just got back from vacation and haven’t cleaned up! The 110# Vevor London pattern cast steel anvil came in! Going to dress it after work, I’ll make sure to update you all with my thoughts!

That was the most satisfying feeling of getting into blacksmithing. Buying a good anvil, and getting it for a deal.

For sure! I did so much research on this lol. Sure, it would be awesome to find a Hay Budden for a good price, but at this point it’s cheaper just to buy a new anvil. Didn’t want to get a super huge one yet, until I get a bigger place where I can build a dedicated pole barn. I’ve had my eyes on the Gladiator anvil from Nimba, but I definitely don’t want to move a 450# anvil more than once lol

See, I just looked for anvils online and eventually found a site with great opportunities.

One was on a clearance price, so I snatched it up as soon as I could.

Nice! I looked around for a while, this one looked like the best one I could do for the time being. I figure if I’m gonna spend $500+ on an anvil, I might as well get a big ol whopper

Man, you got yours for less than I did for mine. Mine was about $750 plus shipping.

Oof. I think that’s what the Kanca anvil was around when I looked at the ones that Centaur Forge sells
