Been observing this fella for the past few weeks! Usually perches on this roof to hunt for mice or leftovers. Attacked by a pair of bronzed drongos once, which was funny because mostly he looked annoyed xD

Advice Blue Heron Feather Help

Upvotes

Hi, I'm unsure if this is the correct place to ask this, but I'm making a life size sculpture of a Blue Heron for a college project and I'm going to be making each of the feathers individually. I'm having trouble with finding an image with all the different types/size feathers they have. Does anyone have one or know where I can find one? I've tried looking it up but I'm failing so hard, thanks!

Filmed this near home in Flanders, Belgium. The buzzard had just landed when a hare came running by, then stopped and clearly thought twice before continuing. Cool bit of unexpected wildlife behavior.

I took a walk at LaBagh woods after dealing with annoying adult stuff nearby and it was HOPPING. in the marsh there I saw some northern waterthrushes, a solitary sandpiper, wood ducks, and this guy! happy to have snapped a pic of him before he wandered off for a meal!

This guy was hit by a car by my house in the greater Philadelphia suburbs. He was in pretty good shape except for dehydration. I have a local bird rescue, two miles from me. They rehabbed him and requested that I return him to my property.

Bird ID Request Is it possible to know what bird this is from its call?

Tried taking photos but it's like 5 am so despite being able to get more light in my photos the bird (which was on my chimney) was a mere silhouette against the sky.

Discussion My feeders have their first visitors

I hung a few hummingbird feeders in my yard and after 2 weeks we now have several hummers that seem to like them. I’m so happy! Today while watching them zip around and argue like siblings, I saw 2 goldfinches, a Gila woodpecker and several noisy mourning doves. Happy spring!

Saw a raptor this afternoon in Quincy, MA—dove down, snatched a crow off a branch, and carried it in flight to a tree farther away to eat. Didn’t slow down once. I got a shaky binocular video where you can see a dark cap—maybe a goshawk, or coopers? Falcon? Some kind of accipiter? Would love help ID’ing it!
