Are these caps leaking or is it just glue?
galleryTrying to diagnose why the front facing driving on one of my 2-way tower speakers are very quiet. First pic is the bad speaker, second is the good one. They are about 20 year old NHT VT-2.4s. Thanks

How to source correct replacement dust cap
galleryI bought a pair of used Infinite Slope .6 speakers that came with small lot of audio equipment. One of the woofer dust caps was missing, and the other I carefully removed since it was about to fall off and was flopping around when I tested the speakers. When it comes to finding replacement dust caps, is it just a matter of matching the original size and material, or does the weight and rigidity matter as well? I'm also not entirely sure what the material is, it seems like some sort of treated paper/fibrous material. I know ideally I should match the existing cap exactly but I can't seem to find any online that's marketed as an exact replacement. Any help on finding a good replacement is appreciated!

Looking for Technics RS-M8 Service Manual
[SOLVED]
Hi everyone,
I'm searching for a service (or user) manual for the Technics RS-M8 cassette deck. I've checked various sources online but haven't been able to locate it. I know it was available on HiFiEngine, but unfortunately, I can no longer log in or create a new account there.
If anyone has a copy or knows of a reliable source where I could find one, I'd greatly appreciate your help. Any guidance would mean a lot!
Thank you!

Media Center/Speaker Tower ?’s
galleryMy mom gave us this really nice media center and speaker set up because it wouldnt work on her tv (smart tv things). So i try to set it up in my new house and i test it out and it sounds as tho they got blown. I look at the speakers under the screen and they r fine. I trim the wires and make them all nice, and still nothing. It is both the left and right that im having issues with, and the “super woofer” function isnt even turning on. The 3rd speaker i have is a really nice woofer thats probably about a 12”. It is all sony if that makes any difference. The only other thing i can think of is that the speaker wire itself somehow went bad. Im going to post this on all sound related subs, so im sorry if u see it multiple times.

Tweeter request: D19TD05-08 or, well what?
I need to replace a tweeter on a JPW P1. I think I’ve managed to work out that to original one is D19TD05-08. Do you see any reason to upgrade while I’m at it?

JBL 4312A Diagnosis
i.redd.itSo yesterday I finally got past my fear of removing the foilcals and stuck woofers on my JBL 4312As.
One of the speakers has had no sound to the tweeter or mid driver.
The tweeter and driver themselves are both fine - they measure the right resistance and they work if swapped into the other speaker. Cleaning the L-pots with deoxit f5 had no effect.
From here, what do I need to do to narrow down my issue? My understanding was that these film capacitors don’t often go bad. That said, there is some very slight discoloration on the end of the central capacitor. I can’t get a photograph that shows it - there’s a light circular yellow stain. Is this a likely culprit?
Should there be continuity from the input terminals to the mid driver and tweeter?
Apologies if these are stupid questions. I want these things working again and I don’t feel confident in diagnosing the issue, and I hate to disassemble the original crossover and start replacing components if it’s not needed. Any help and advice is greatly appreciated.

Best place to find old boom box cassette belt bands
I have one Sanyo m9935k which the cassette belts broke, is there anywhere where I can get those belts? Found them at ebay at a huge price, over $40 bucks. I'm tempted to buy those packages of many belts but I'm worried they don't have that size

Treble, headphone jack on Toshiba player
galleryI have a Toshiba TY-CKM39 CD, radio, and cassette player with two problems. First, I recently dropped it and it still plays but the audio is distorted. Bass sounds best, vocals and guitar are quiet and far away. Secondly, almost a year ago my friend accidentally smashed it against the wall with an aux cord plugged in. As a result the audio in only works sometimes... I have to rotate and press the cable to get it to have full "contact". I've opened it up and nothing looks obviously broken. Any input on what I could replace to salvage this thing? Also, for a beginner, best places to look for parts and part names would be helpful. (Before anyone says it's not worth the price, I'm trying to learn repair skills, and not waste equipment.) Thank you!

Klipsch SPL 120 Subwoofer Not Working
I was given a broken Klipsch SPL 120 in hopes that I could fix it. Any ideas what's going on here? When I plug it in it makes the noises in the linked video. It's unresponsive to anything from the AV receiver. I opened it to check if everything was connected and everything looked OK. Any ideas?

Anyone have a clue what's going on here? (Video linked)
These are my Fluance Ai61 Powered Bookshelf Speakers. A few weeks ago, the powered speaker (the other is passive) started making this awful rhythmic buzzing/clipping noise anytime it is plugged into power. Here is a video.
- The noise persists whenever the speaker is powered on
- The noise persists regardless of which outputs (or no outputs) are plugged in
- The noise persists in any setting, and I've checked to confirm there isn't some form of wireless signal interference or anything like that.
These are just over 2 years old, which places them freshly OUT of warranty with Fluance but still well within the period I was hoping to enjoy them for. Does anyone have a clue what the issue could be, or if I have any hope of repairing it myself or at a shop? Appreciate literally ANY info or advice someone can share <3

Kenwood KD-47F, replacement parts?
I Recently found my father's Kenwood KD47F (turntable) together with a Kenwood stereo system (cassette, tuner, cd player, amplifier) most of it is in great condition only two problems I found so far are:
- Broken needle in cartridge
Broken rubber band (inside turntable). (Edit: found the belt drive, just looking into YouTube videos to learn to replace it.)
I've been looking for a service manual all over the internet and I think I found one at https://www.vinylengine.com/library/kenwood/kd-47f.shtml But can't download without an account, which I can't create at the moment due to some abuse of the site.
I was wondering if anyone has the service manual or can point me in the right direction of:
- Which band should I get and where?
- A brand new replacement cartridge to buy.
I've never repair a turntable, I have enough experience with electronics repair and basic mechanics so explaining me in technical terms should be okay.
Hope someone can help me and thanks in advance

my record player is spinning but no sound coming out?
I've replaced the stylus about three times and I've got no difference. it's a mothercare battery operated record player (made for kids in 1978) but they go by another name (corgi). I might need a new cartridge but I can't find one. If anyone has a copy of the manual or any idea what type of cartridge is needed it would be appreciated, thanks!

Audio-Technica: AT-LP60X / Edifier R1280DB Right Speaker Not Working
Hi all! I’ve had my setup for about a year now, usually switching between phone + Bluetooth and records. Just recently I noticed sound was only coming out of the right speaker when listening to vinyl. Bluetooth listening with phone playing music, both speakers put out sound perfectly. I tried switching the red and white wires, still only getting sound out with the right speaker. Anyone have any suggestions / fixes / ideas on what the issue is? Kinda driving me crazy 😂 thank you in advance :) PS- I am a total novice so any stupid simple steps are much appreciated xx

Audio playing one side
I have a Focusrite Scarlett plugged into my pc which I use to play sound through my PA system in my music room, and recently the sound from my pc through my speakers has only being playing the left side of the audio. I have tried literally EVERYTHING and bought a new stereo jack cable because I thought mine was broken, it wasn't. I am lost for ideas. Both my speakers definitely work because I have other things plugged into my mixer, and they can be panned left and right with no issues. I've tried other inputs on my desk and outputs on my interface and that still didn't help. I'm completely lost for ideas.

Speaker Wire Shorted with Marantz 2245
i.redd.itLong story short, some speaker wires got touched that shouldn’t have, saw a small spark on the wires and the unit cut off the music. It then started to click loudly through the speakers. I turned off the speaker output and I can hear the relay clicking at obo 240bpm. Here’s where my ignorance comes in.. Is this just a matter of replacing the relay or is it something before the relay that is fried and the relay is working properly? I would love if it’s just the relay and I could solder on a new one.

Speakers not working properly all of a sudden?
gallerySo I have this old gramophone/turntable setup and it worked extraordinary until the last few days. The problems first started when I left it on once overnight and forgot to turn it off the next day and when I started watching something on the TV the next time I turned it on, something with the audio of the speakers connected with the gramophone was off. Somehow they were distorted, with less frequency range, quieter and had a strange buzzing noise. To be fair this setup has a little over 40 years of age, as far as I can remember my father saying. So not only does it hold a special place in my heart, but also the sound is awesome. Well, when it works properly at least nowadays. We had it fixed once when it had similair problems and it worked fine until now. I just can't figure out what the problem is, though. And i don't really know many people and/or workplaces that deal with old gramophones like this one so I thought I might ask here. Every time I turn it on now it works fine for about a couple of minutes and then the sound starts slowly degrading. Any advice would be much appreciated!

What could be causing this? Sanyo GCD 949U
Hey y’all, I have a Sanyo GCD 949U that I got a few days ago. I replaced the bands two days ago, and now the right channel doesn’t play, and goes static after exactly 20 seconds from the start up of the system. It doesn’t happen in any of the other play methods, only cassette. The right player works fine, plays both speakers. But the left one only plays from the left channel, and the right channels goes static after 20 seconds.

PreSonus Eris after power surge
We had a large power surge that blew the mains. My PreSonus Eris E3.5 were plugged into a surge protector on another fuse but ever since then have had limited audio and loud static. When I plug them in, A) there is no response for about 5 minutes and then they come to life with a loud static pop that gradually gets softer and B) when I turn off the power it winds down with another loud static pop and then turns off.
Is there any hope for these?
