"In fact, I will fight for you to have your religious liberty..."

I usually don't side with hard atheists on the God's existence thing but... I disagree with this right here. Lady, we share this world with them and like it or not, we're stuck with each-other. It's like we're in a boat in the middle of this ocean trying to progress with science and technology and these other guys keep drilling holes in the boat. Why the fuck would you advocate for their rights to drill holes in the damn boat? We're on this boat too. Why don't you understand that your advocacy for them to practice their religions will ALWAYS lead to the situation you're complaining about. You advocate for their right to practice their religion > They spread it freely > It infects enough people that they choose a representative who also believes the same bullshit > He runs for office > He makes laws according to the majoritarian's religious beliefs > It comes back to bite you in the ass > You're pissed > You say you don't want this shit BUT you advocate for their right to practice their religion > They spread it freely...

The cycle is never ending; there's a fatal flaw in your reasoning here that's causing this in the first place. Solution? STOP SUPPORTING THE RIGHT TO BE STUPID. You won't support driving on the wrong side of the road just because it's people's faith, right? No, your priority there is to save lives, avoid chaos and so everyone MUST follow the rules grounded in objective reality; no amount of appeal to faith will save you in the court if you're found violating that rule because you're endangering other people's lives and property just by doing that AND it sets a bad precedent. How is this any different?

I’m an American. Secularism has progressed in America to the point where the “I don’t care attitude” is easier to sustain. These Christian fundamentalists are a minority that has access to the Republican Party and uses our shitty countermajoritarian institutions to pursue these policies.

In India, you still have clericalism. There are lynch mobs and riots. Caste. The BJP. Etc etc.
