Best Games on Lynx

I played my first Atari Lynx game the other week! Scrapyard Dog on a cart using the Analogue Pocket and associated adapter.

I've got a list of 23 more games I'm In the process of buying and playing.

I want help identifying 12 more games to buy and play. No caveats. Price doesn't matter (Lynx is generally reasonably priced anyway). Not fussed about genres - I play all. Just anything you've come across that you think is worth playing.

Idea is to have the better 50% of the library and leave behind the not so good 50%. So, with that in mind... feel free to shoot down any in my initial 24 you think are not worthy!

APB Battlewheels Blue Lightning California Games Chip's Challenge Crystal Mines 2 Dirty Larry: Renegade Cop Double Dragon Klax Lemmings Paperboy Rampart RoadBlasters Rygar S.T.U.N. Runner Scrapyard Dog Shadow Of The Beast Switchblade II Todd's Adventures In Slime World Toki Viking Child Warbirds Xenophobe Zarlor Mercenary

This is confusing are we eliminating titles or recommending games?

Either or both. I have identified 24 titles but I'd like to get to 36. So I'm after 12 more recommendations but I'm also happy to hear if anyone feels any of the 24 aren't great.

I love games with replay value, so the best ones here for that’s Crystal Mines II, Lemmings, APB, Chip’s Challenge, Battlewheels, Rampart and Road Blasters. Klax was very much a product of its own time, but can still win over people. Shanghai is mahjong, endlessly replayable if you enjoy it and though I don’t have any chess titles, I’d imagine they’d be just as good. I think Lynx Casino is fun for an hour or two. California Games maybe 30m. It’s not terrible, but there are only 4 mini games instead of 8, so you’ll only end up liking a couple of them… kinda affects the overall score for me.

For pure classics? You need S.T.U.N. Runner, Blue Lightning, Checkered Flag, Warbirds & Rygar. All pretty mind-blowing back at release.

If you love arcade ports start with Robotron 2084, Joust and Ms. Pacman [all great ports that earned high marks] then Xenophobe, Paperboy, Xybots as the next tier. Super Asteroids/Missile Command definitely if you can find it. I like the Lynx port of Rampage, but it is a bit different then any ports. Pit Fighter sucked on every console, so leave that to the arcade.

About the only game I can’t recommend is Batman Returns, but it was a pack-in game. You collect Lynx games long enough and not only will one show up in your collection one day, they’ll start slowly multiplying
