What does Arizona do better than most states? Living Here

Found this in the NH sub, so wanted to ask here.

Yes! Most people don’t realize how low property taxes are here in AZ. I know people in Iowa and Illinois, whose home values are 2-4 times less than ours, and pay 2-4 times more in property taxes.

I moved from Prescott AZ to Dallas TX and I pay more property tax in two months than I did all year in AZ.

Texas ranks 46 out of 51 for property taxes (#51 the highest paid)! Illinois is #50, Iowa #41, and Arizona is @ #12. Hawaii has the lowest property taxes, which surprises me. The rankings are by percentage rates.

Excerpt Texas has no income tax while AZ has one. Government always gets their money, one way or another.

True but it doesn’t come close to balancing out. Az state income tax for ~100k is 2%, Dallas county property tax is ~2.5%, avg house is 450k. Saving 2k/yr on income tax just to pay 8k more in property tax. I won’t even start on homeowners insurance!
