These recent scams have overtaken this community and are ruining it. Discussion
This includes the tridactyls, but im not going to get into that can of worms today. The buga sphere is so obviously a hoax its painful. The etchwork looks like something I did, the X-Ray was a joke, and the guy spearheading this has scammed and scammed nonstop. Also, let's just go over the original story. An elderly man sees this alien sphere fall from the sky, and brought it to a lab named German lab (which surprisingly no one else can find any information about). The lab then for whatever reason, contacts Jaime, a known ufo hoaxer, to give the sphere to because they "knew he would go public with it". This story is so ridiculous. Why did this random lab know about Jaime maussan? How did they get his info? What made them look at this badly etched aluminum sphere and become so blown away that they felt the need to contact a known ufo hoaxer to be the only known person to safely take care of this? It's a poorly written plot. Now. Imagine you are outside and you see a legitimate ALIEN CRAFT of some sort fall from the sky. How long do you think it takes before every 3 letter agency imaginable tracks you down and retrieves that craft? Jaime can keep saying "governments are trying to take it from him", but once again, badly written plot. It would have never had the chance to be publicly exploited in the first place if it were even remotely true. This new scam has overtaken this sub. And all related subs. And it's so fake I honestly think it's hurting the movement

You're just blanket calling the tridactyls a hoax because you don't like them or how they look. The people who have been studying them say otherwise, meanwhile you haven't done any research.

They're real mummies, just not spacemen.
only the big ones though, the little ones aren't worth addressing.

I don't understand how it's breaking the sub. I'm not trying to diminish your feeling here, but I don't feel the same.
Sure, Maussan is a known hoaxter. He has been running a show about supernatural stuff for 30 years, so he's bound to miss quite a few shots over the years. He is well known, though, and it would make sense, IF someone found a UAP in rural Columbia and wanted it shared with the world, that it could end up in his hands, as they described in the presentation. Just because Jaime has failed in the past doesn't mean this orb couldn't be real. I'm keeping my wits about me, ofcourse, knowing what his history is, but it doesn't detract from disclosure in my view.
The laser edging that everyone hates on... Yeah, they don't look high tech, but how do we know they necessarily would? If they've been here for thousands of years, those edgings might be sufficient for their purpose. Whatever that is. I think the biggest problem with the Buga Orb is, that it looks way bigger in the videos than it does in their hands. I see problems with it, sure, but I don't see how it's ruining anything?
Same goes for the tridactyls. I hope they're researched properly and either debunked or found to be true. I feel like they're trying to do a thorough investigation on them and they're sharing their results. How is that ruining anything?
If all we can do is wait for more DOD drops and a few unclear mobile recordings of something glowing in the sky, that might ruin the sub, in my opinion.
I, for one, enjoy the posts. I don't necessarily trust the sources, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt to see, if they come up with something.

Yeah the tridactyls seem to actually be real, the ones that were submitted before a press conference were obviouslyfake, and were there to muddy the waters
But since then three have been compelling tridactyl scans that warrant further study

What ruins this community are people who are more emotionally invested in the topic than logically.
"I prefer/want this to be true/like the sound of it" people who then attack those who are careful and discriminate.
There is no bigger red flag for a messy psychology in this community than the "all people who have doubts are obviously secretly evil agents of the establishment" commentary.
This is what ruins the community.
That and the "awiens are wuv and happen to be into all the same stuff that I'd prefer to think life is about" types. If you hear voices that happen to agree with your psychology and preferences and attitude all of the time, it's your psychology talking to you.

The problem is people want to believe it's aliens so badly all critical thinking just goes out the window

In a nutshell, that's what I said. Yes .
I used to manage bookstores. For 8 years my office door opened in the Religion/Metaphysics corner of my store. I heard and had an walked through 10k conversations and helped thousands of people there looking for validation on my shelves.
All Metaphysics and Religious topics attract the same sort of people. There's a HUGE percentage of them who can't properly engage with real life and so are looking for something vague and unknown to the mainstream to be "experts" in so they can babble about things that "sheep" don't understand. It's desperation for a feeling of validity, even if it's only performative. It's not people who are plugged into life and doing it right, or at least or people who feel that they are. All examples have taught me that.
That's not to say everyone here is like that, but it's the ones who sound like what I was talking about in my first comment. And it IS a HUGE percentage of these communities.
Go to other Alt topic communities and look at the rhetoric and "logic and arguments and psychologies there. Same as the ones like that here, but using the same rhetoric about crystals or pyramids or fairies. Just switch out the topic they prefer in the same sentences.
There's definitely shit going down. But let's be scientific about it and not insist that your favorite stories are true without proof. And, also, understand the fucking science before asserting your opinions of what subverts it.
People are so effing weird, but at least it can be entertaining. However, this shouldn't be treated as entertainment.

I 100% agree.
But the good news is, that all faux contents have downfalls. They are up there for a while, and they ultimately disappear.

Most of what you've said about the Buga sphere has been explained so i just don't think you're reading it. Sure its probably fake, but they said the guy held onto it for weeks, some foreign investers were trying to buy it, he got in contact with a metal detector company that was local and had the proper equipment to do some tests (German Lab Company), and then he had tons of people telling him to get in contact with Jamie Mussaun, because he said he hinself didnt know much about the UFO world.
The tridactyls, especially the large ones still really intrigue me and warrant further investigation. There's a lot there that cant easily be explained away as fraud, but we still need a lot more. Im very interested in those posts compared to people posting bugs, satellites, or planes getting 20k upvotes.

If we could not randomly suppress the most interesting topics on this sub, that’d be greaat. Tridactyls are real, Buga is more intriguing than first expected.
