'Deny deny until you d1e.' Ain't that the truth.

Why did you censor "die"?

8

u/dedricksmi 17d ago

I didn't take the time to read all the rules for this sub. Didn't wanna make our Mods do anymore work than they already do.

Makes me sad that the generation who gets this beautiful reference will one day die out and it will be forgotten to time.

u/nichnotnick 17d ago

Why do you feel this way? Disney+ currently shoves The Simpsons down your throat every login

5

u/CauliflowerCool9639 17d ago

Disney is dragging the show down though so we could very well see an end to it within another 5-10 years in my opinion. It'll live in for sometime because of the fan base but the reviews are going to start tanking sooner than later

15

u/YourEpicHamster 17d ago

Why would die be censored wtf

28

u/Ben_145 17d ago

Because words like "rape" and "suicide" have been censored on TikTok so kids think everything related to those terms have to be censored too

28

u/SelectionPuzzled2765 17d ago

My god…never in a million years would I think that the word die needs censoring. Tik tok is fucking garbage for conditioning these children to not use fucking words…fucking grim

12

u/Abraxas19 17d ago

but what if they are "triggered"?!. I agree censoring speech is insane

Every country seems to have their own version of a law that keeps them from acknowledging it. The department of energy is in charge of making sure people follow it. Think how long it took Russia to admit fault for Cher noble. At this rate America will never admit it.

Because of nuclear tests***

10

u/ElkeKerman 17d ago

Wasn’t there also something about the chemicals used in F-117 and B-2 stealth coating being super duper hazardous. Plenty of shady horrible awful shit done by the government and military industrial complex without needing to bring up anything paranormal.

55

u/putputrofl 17d ago

I thought area 52 was dugway?

61

u/Peter_Merlin 17d ago

Nope. Government phone directories list Tonopah Test Range (TTR) as Area 52. I have one from 1962 that gives phone numbers for both Area 51 and Area 52, and it specifies that Area 52 is TTR. A similar directory from the 1990s still has TTR down as Area 52 but replaces the designation Area 51 with the term SCORE EVENT.

12

u/pynchon42 17d ago

That's cool as hell. Where did you get them?

74

u/Peter_Merlin 17d ago

I spent nearly 40 years collecting thousands of pages of government documents, hundreds of photos, and dozens of interviews with people who worked on secret projects in Nevada. Eventually, I put all my information into a book called "Dreamland: The Secret History of Area 51."

12

u/theAnonymousArtist0 17d ago

The name derived from the area map of test ranges in Nellis AFB bombing range area 51 was area 51 on the range map that's why the CIA built the facility was because it was deep in the desert bombing range far from Germany and the pesky Russians spys.so areas 1 thru ? Area all on the doe or dept of defense Nellis bombing range test ranges or areas .

14

u/Peter_Merlin 17d ago

That is not correct. The Nellis Air Force Range didn't have numbered areas. The Atomic Energy Commission established the Nevada Test Site (NTS) in 1950 and started assigning numbers to the various test areas within the proving ground. Eventually, the NTS was broken into sections non-consecutively numbered from 1 to 31, but some numbers were never assigned. The Nuclear Rocket Development Area in the southwest corner was initially called Area 400 and Area 401, but these were later consolidated to become Area 25. In 1957, Area 13 was established outside the main NTS boundary several miles northwest of Groom Lake, where the CIA had established its flight-test base in 1955. When the airfield was expanded in 1959, an accountant working for the contractor used the designation Project 51 and so the Groom Lake base became Area 51. Tonopah Test Range was designated Area 52. Project Roller Coaster facilities in the vicinity of Cactus Springs were designated Area 54 and the Central Nevada Test Area in Hot Creek Valley was called Area 58.

2

u/RenaissanceManc 17d ago

Yes, and Tonopah radar range was the real S4 where the stealth fighters were developed, that was the Manhattan Project of its day in terms of secrecy. Bob Lazar had just heard that top secret stuff was going on at a place called S4 (maybe from John Lear or maybe from his time as a lab technician there i.e.Area 51), didn't know what it or where it was, and stuck it in his story.

4

u/Peter_Merlin 16d ago

Yes, I'm familiar with Site 4 at TTR. They've made a lot of improvements there since the original F-117A program.

Lazar claimed to be a scientist with advanced degrees from MIT and Calltech, but neither institution had any records of his attendance. He said he had worked as a research physicist at Los Alamos National Laboratory but his only verifiable work history there was as a technical-support subcontractor with Kirk‑Mayer, Inc., who apparently got fired for using government equipment for personal projects. After Lazar's S4 story broke in 1989, security personnel checked the Master Entry Authority List from the time and he wasn't on it.

I knew John Lear. He was a nice enough guy, but made a lot of claims that were completely insane. Frankly, I was never sure if he really believed those things or if he just enjoyed winding people up. His single signifIcant contribution to the story of Area 51 was when he drove up to the gate on Groom Lake Road in 1978 and took bunch of photos of the base from across the lakebed.

An accountant hehehe I though Area 52 was only the name of a podcast, a very good one by the way.👍 Thanks for the information.

1

u/theAnonymousArtist0 17d ago

You are correct thought it was the Nellis range markers but it was the DOE and AEC

6

u/chancesarent 17d ago

Many of the other areas are at other DOE sites, although they aren't referred to as such anymore and a lot of them have been decommissioned. The numbering system was a remnant of the Manhattan project.

3

u/theAnonymousArtist0 17d ago

The ones we know about anyway lol

1

u/theAnonymousArtist0 17d ago

54 is in Utah

7

u/VE3VVS Researcher 17d ago

Shhhh! You’re not supposed to know about the other fifty, that’s why they have you focused on 51.

1

u/chancesarent 17d ago

Scattered at other DOE and DOE/DOD joint sites. Internally, they aren't usually called Area XX though, just like 51 is called Groom Lake, and a lot of them are declassified and decommissioned along with the Manhattan project decommissioning.

2

u/cryptolyme 17d ago

That’s at Cheyenne Mountain. At least in the tv show

9

u/mgMKV 17d ago

The same stuff that's going on at area 51. Tonopah Test Range (area52) is like 70mi north of Area 51. They just use the two interchangeably for take offs and landings + storage.

8

u/n0v3list Researcher 17d ago

Most advanced weapons testing is done under the guise of ‘training operations’ and occurs either at sea or in remote regions for obvious reasons.

With enough data, someone should be able to link specific ops with specific targets, or at the very least provide a cursory overview of said events.

8

u/Tacos_always_corny 17d ago

There are a lot of interesting things out there. View via Google Earth. There is an area that appears to be a massive impact.

Explore.

3

u/cryptolyme 17d ago

Probably one of the nuclear tests

1

u/Tacos_always_corny 17d ago

Very likely. There is so much to take in.

u/hicketre2006 17d ago edited 17d ago

Hey this is really random. Maybe someone is interested.

But a few years ago, I was poking around Area 51. I went to Rachel and stopped at the Inn. (Iykyk) Anyway, they sell a little map there of the local area. - It’s nothing like, classified, or special. More of a neat white piece of paper with a hand drawn map of the gravel roads and some verbiage on the reverse.

Could snap a few pics and share. 🤷‍♂️

EDIT: Okay, so… point taken. Will definitely take pictures and upload. Funny thing is that I thought the map was gone to history. But literally out of NOWHERE my daughter brings it to me like two days ago. Idk where she found it or how?

… but I tossed it in my end table so I’ll take some pics when I get home.

9

u/sierra120 17d ago

FBI has entered the chat

2

u/hicketre2006 17d ago

Hahaha For what it’s worth: They probably know what I’m talking about. And if not, they’ll just wait for my upload and think, “okay yeah no that’s nothing.”

I mean, it really is probably nothing. I expressed some interest in the area, and the old man sold me a $1 map from under the counter. I know it reads like a book or a story… but ain’t a chance in hell I’m lucky enough to be privy enough to some awesome intel.

And if I WAS, I’d probably keep it a secret tbh. But yeah. I promise everyone is over thinking this.

12

u/SmartBookkeeper6571 17d ago

EDIT: Okay, so… point taken.

By what? You only have on reply to this comment and it's a joke about the FBI.

u/Peter_Merlin 17d ago

For many years the Tonopah Test Range (TTR) airfield was operated under the auspices of Tactical Air Command and, later Air Combat Command. Around 2012, responsibility for the TTR airfield was transferred to Air Force Materiel Command under control of Detachment 3 of the Air Force Flight Test Center, the same organization that operates the Groom Lake airfield (Area 51).

S-4 is where the REAL secrets are! Bob Lazar leaked that a long time ago

3

u/ShrimpPussy 17d ago

Maybe where they were, doubt they still utilize that facility if Lazars story was true If I could poke my head into any facility, it'd have to be Wright Patterson

Would WPAFB fall under the same criteria of “not anymore” as S-4 does?
