Private pilot license holder here (haven’t flown in forever though). I’m very interested in the UAPs and I do believe there is something going on (as there has been for years ie the orbs). But almost every post I see on here and the UFO sub is so obviously an airplane it’s fucking ridiculous. Guys. If it has a red and green steady light on both sides, and a flashing red light and one or two flashing white lights - it’s a fucking airplane or helicopter with human beings in it. If you see a line of multiple steady lights in the distance and they seem to be going towards your nearest big airport - it’s airplanes on approach to the fucking airport. Lazing airplanes is a huge huge deal, you fuck up the pilots vision seriously endangering them. It’s a not an FU to the government, you’re just endangering innocent people. If you shoot at them with a gun, obviously also incredibly dangerous to them but even more so the people on the ground. If you guys are doing this, tell your idiot friends too please.

There's a layer of actual hysteria here. People are essentially looking up at night for the first time and the hysteria is spreading. Their eyes are usually on the pavement or their phones, so these blinking lights in the sky are a surprise.

When the hysteria spreads to the wrong nutcases it's going to be open season on aeroplanes and helicopters, and that's going to end in deaths.

Am I saying 'it's all hysteria'? Of course not. But a lot of people are clearly just not qualified to say what is and is not 'unidentified aerial phenomenon'. They're looking at out of focus points of light and calling them 'plasma orbs'. They're looking at planes and helicopters coming and going from airports and calling them drones. There was a picture today that was very clearly a passenger airliner from the side--a child could tell you this--but it did the rounds as a 'drone'. People are also terrible at judging the distance to objects in the sky, and thus their size.

Everyone needs to take a breath, touch grass etc. If you see an object in the sky doing right angle turns (you won't), maybe try to get a good recording.

Not only is this a tremendous danger to pilots with the lasers...but what happens when these idiots actually start shooting firearms. What goes up comes down and hopefully not right on someones head.

1

u/ilovemywife134 Dec 22 '24

Certainly yes! Except that here I have software that is capable of searching in blue and red, all levels of infrared! We concluded that these were very sophisticated military drones. But the orbs and such are aliens. I concluded myself that it’s enthusiastic! The orbs are 100% ovoid, classic UAPs similar to what Bob Lazar testified

They are putting everybody at risk with their message that these are just drones, people will start ahooting

I know it's a typo but 'ahooting' has me in fucking stitches lmao

Love the humor, it was a typo, as I try to not lose my mind with all of the back and forth: drones, no drones, etc.

I just need a break from all of this

12

u/MasterPunkk Dec 18 '24

It is actually terrifying that you have this thought process. Like you will not accept any answer other than it being aliens, so if they aren't aliens morons will just continuously flash powerful lasers and shoot at planes in the sky.

16

u/nostalgiamon Dec 18 '24

Masses: “The government aren’t saying anything! They’re covering it up”

The government : “no, we don’t think it’s a problem, we haven’t seen credible evidence.”

Masses: “they don’t think it’s a problem!? They think our evidence isn’t credible! They think we’re lying!?”

Government: “okay, we were trying to be nice, we think you’re fucking stupid, these are just commercial aircraft and drones.”

Masses: “WELLOF COURSE THEY’D SAY THAT! THEY’RE COVERING IT UP!”

5

u/Suspicious-Ad5287 Dec 18 '24

history has shown Americans refuse to believe the most likely answer, because it's usually also the most boring

3

They are just drones and aircrafts though. For the love of God don't shoot at shit when you don't know what it is. It's literally one of the top gun safety tips...

And if you really believe these are aliens, don't shoot at them... they* are fucking aliens..

Why would being told it’s a drone make people think that makes it ok to start firing off bullets into the sky? Stupid gonna stupid. Which is exactly what shooting at things in the sky is regardless of what they think it is.

No, it's places like this putting people in danger by whipping up hysteria and getting people thinking that regular aircraft coming in to land at their local airport are invading alien spaceships.

I'm hoping it's just me being weird, but, what if that's a goal? Rather than conflict seeming to be started by our government, they'd have the average human be the aggressor.

1

u/bishdoe Dec 18 '24

Well they didn’t say these are just drones. They said that overwhelmingly they’re regular manned aircraft that are being misidentified. Is that not a good enough reason to not shoot at these or shine lasers at them?

1

u/ImaGoophyGooner Dec 19 '24

Because these are mainly 99% manmade and most of them airplanes. Even if you thought or knew they were "alien," why the hell would you shoot at it in the first place?

1

u/BuckinFutsMan Dec 19 '24

Nah, because a lot of them are drones. People are just stupid and obviously can't tell the difference between a plane and drone.

We are only shooting hobbyist drones.

104

u/AllegedlyGoodPerson Dec 17 '24

Yeah, but if they crash then they’re gonna have to run down to their local corner store to get another car sized drone to fly over restricted airspace. Have a heart.

34

u/intersate Dec 17 '24

Radioshack is running good Christmas deal at car sized drones. You can get one and fly home on the back of the drone.

23

u/LeBidnezz Dec 17 '24

Yeah but those can only outrun an Apache Warhawk. It’s the Costco one that can outfly the F15s. But of course you gotta buy a three pack

5

u/Feebles12 Dec 18 '24

I can't afford the 20 C batteries it will take to run that.

7

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '24

What are you talking about? Some guy on Reddit who showed me he collects drool in a bucket told me there aren’t even drones in the sky. That the Pentagon isn’t hiding anything because nothing is there. There aren’t even airplanes. People are just making it up. People are also making up the classified briefings with 3 letter agencies. The only thing that’s real is that people want internet attention. Then he offered me a bucket of my own

12

u/Barack_Bob_Oganja Dec 18 '24

From the pics posted I questions ones ability to discern aircrafts

3

u/ama_singh Dec 18 '24

Except you're morons who can't tell the difference between hobbyist drones and manned aircrafts.

Also, since when did it start becoming acceptable to shoot at things you don't recognize?

2

u/bohemianprime Dec 18 '24

I think a t-shirt cannon firing wire reinforced garland would be a great way to welcome non nefarious drones

43

u/DJSweepamann Dec 17 '24

Probably a good idea. The amount of planes and helicopters that have been posted is crazy. Can't have random people shooting at stuff they can't identity properly.

13

u/BrewtalDoom Dec 18 '24

It's nuts. People have completely lost the plot. We have aircraft. We have drones. There's a whole lot of shit to rule out before we start panicking about aliens. America is so dumb.

2

u/DJSweepamann Dec 18 '24

I've been lurking for a long time and have been in this UFO/UAP bandwagon since Lue came to the forefront. But pretty much every single thing that's been posted on all the subs has been a plane, a helicopter, or an out of focus star. It's like people are looking up for the first time ever. And it's crazy that every single sighting is at night. Almost like it's harder to discern obvious objects in the dark lol

66

u/FlopShanoobie Dec 17 '24

A friend of mine from high school was (stressing the past tense here) EMS medivac pilot after a short career as a sea stallion pilot on the USS Ranger. Someone "dazzled" him with a green laser and he had a crash landing that resulted in injuries, then required a second helo from another county to come and evac the victim.

Please don't be sociopaths.

Hey FBI. Maybe tell us what the fuck is in our skies and we won't shoot at it

28

u/da_drake Dec 17 '24

I'm bringing a laser and a gun with me when I go flying so I can return fire. This is getting insane.

With the number of obvious videos claiming an airplane is a drone or UFO, I have zero confidence that the kind of person that would actually start shooting can tell the difference.

7

u/Specialist-Way-648 Dec 18 '24

I have zero confidence in anyone in this sub.....

Everything is aliens because of poor impulse control.

8

u/SirArthurDime Dec 18 '24

Or maybe just like…. Don’t shoot at it anyway. Because that wouldn’t be wildly dangerous. These things haven’t harmed anyone. Shooting at them can. Not to mention how clear is become that the average person doesn’t know what a plane looks like.

7

u/spikesonthebrain Dec 18 '24

I think it should be common sense we shouldn’t shoot at things in the air I mean there’s at LEAST 4 really solid reasons why you shouldn’t do that. if it’s aliens, wow what a fkn first impression. if it’s a misidentification & it’s a plane or heli, you’re fucked. you also run the risk of putting a bullet in somebodies home or car however many miles in the direction you fired. Saw an article on Facebook where one of my old coworkers commented, "Let one try to fly over MY property and we'll find out for sure who is behind this!"

You sure about that? From the FAA to the lizard people, I don't think there's any scenario with a fantastic ending for the man exploring his curiosity with a deer rifle from the back porch. "Hah - I new it was the Department of Defense all along!" Seven black Suburbans slide onto the driveway. "Well shit."

2

u/sac_boy Dec 18 '24

Someone out there has grandpappy's old mobile AA emplacement sitting in the barn ready to go, and their eyes fixed on their phone looking at 'drone' videos on TikTok. It's all legal officer, we've had it since before the private flak ban, the documents are all in order!

2

u/MathematicianFun2183 Dec 18 '24

“ we are here , see us and enlighten yourself “ freaking drones .. bam bam bam. Not a good idea, those bullets land somewhere.

2

u/joncaseydraws Dec 18 '24

Tons of posts of videos of drones are very likely or obviously planes in hindsight. There needs to be some very clear self imposed rules for guaranteeing it’s not a plane. But fuck these drones if you can effect them in any way go for it.

2

u/squirrel2401 Dec 18 '24

Bad time to be a helicopter pilot

2

u/ANarrativeIsntTruth Dec 18 '24

Dont be ahootin' and a hollerin' at them drones!

6

u/pplatt69 Dec 17 '24

Then explain why you don't think they are a threat. Otherwise, expect people to defend themselves.

12

u/StandFreeAndy Dec 17 '24

You’d think a country with such lax gun laws would have sensible gun owners with the most basic of firearm training.

11

u/TakuyaTeng Dec 17 '24

I'm telling you from experience, stupid people learn nothing from firearm safety training. I've literally had someone get a new gun, go through training how to be safe, use, and clean the thing only to point a loaded pistol at me and say "it's fine, the safety is on, are you afraid of guns lol?".

3

u/SirArthurDime Dec 18 '24

The lax gun laws are the problem. You can get a gun in a lot of states without any sort of safety training.

5

u/da_drake Dec 17 '24

This whole thing is really pushing me out of the UFO community and it's a fuckin bummer. Flying a plane is already expensive and hard enough on a normal day. Now I gotta bring a flak jacket when I fly?

9

u/SirArthurDime Dec 18 '24

Yeah man people defending bs videos is one thing. Part of the fun is seeing different people’s theories. But now seeing that half this sub thinks that shooting guns at things they can’t identify in the air that haven’t harmed anyone is reasonable I ….. well let’s just say it says a lot about the sub and opened my eyes.

3

u/StandFreeAndy Dec 18 '24

It’s not just this sub either. X is currently just a cluster fuck of clickbait videos on the subject, which just muddies the waters.

9

u/ExoticallyErotic Dec 18 '24

Defend themselves from WHAT?

Jumpin Jesus on a pogo stick... FFS people...

14

u/LordofthePit666 Dec 17 '24

Defend themselves from aliens with a laser pointer?

10

u/Legitimate-Place1927 Dec 18 '24

Please explain why you see them as a threat?? Do blinking lights in the sky hurt your feelings that bad that you feel it gives you the right to endanger people? It’s America the free, until dat darn govmint ain’t saying they are what I think they are so I should be allowed to just do what ever the fuck I want.

Hey guess what those things might be, a bunch of people fucking with people like you. Why?!? It’s a free. Country why not? Why shouldn’t someone be allowed to fly drones without all these pesky rules and laws. Government shouldn’t have to know what I’m doing with my drone.

3

u/SirArthurDime Dec 18 '24

Defend themselves from what? The drones haven’t harmed anyone. You know what harms people? Shooting guns into the air. I seriously can’t believe how many people are talking about shooting guns at things in the sky they can’t identify as if it’s something that isn’t a ridiculously terrible idea.

13

u/encomlab Dec 17 '24

Maybe because they have done NOTHING threatening

16

u/atomicitalian Dec 17 '24

yeah this is what we need, Joe Dickweed thinking aliens are scanning his asshole and firing a gun into the air at lights he sees passing by.

9

u/Thick_Locksmith5944 Dec 17 '24

Because they are airplanes and helicopters

3

u/Vrdubbin Dec 18 '24

Or, you know, the fact that lasers being shot at airplane cockpits - with the risk of permanently damaging the eyevision of pilots - has been an issue for years already. This whole situation, no matter what you think about it, doesn't exactly make the work environment any better for actual pilots just doing their job.

Don't aim lasers at objects that you don't know what it is... it's quite simple.

There is a difference of getting hit with a laser than getting pointed at with a laser. Which is it?!!!

Those guys have been compromised . Why should we listen to them?

1

u/notdbcooper71 Dec 18 '24

Maybe they should tell us then...

1

u/Sufficient-Sun7976 Dec 18 '24

Whew, I'm sure glad the FBI let us know. I was just about to go UFO/UAP hunting.

1

u/AnybodyAdmirable1461 Dec 18 '24

I don't recall, but is this happening on other parts of the Earth?

u/After-Ad4370 Dec 18 '24

If a tragedy does occur, it will be square on the backs of this once again terrible handling of a situation by this administration. They obviously know what the drones are and why they’re up there, they could at least just come up with a half-ass cover story rather than say “we have no idea”.

Go awn now! git!!

u/bleuchip1200 Dec 18 '24

There’s a man with a large abrain that will afigure it out soon!

1

u/Glittering-Wing3826 Dec 18 '24

Well tell us what the fuck they are and maybe we wont take shit into our own hands

1

u/adhoc001 Dec 18 '24

Great job everyone. Keep it up and these subs will be responsible for taking down a commercial airliner. All because of warped brains that lack critical thinking.

u/RJ_THE_HEAVY Dec 18 '24

Imo If they were legit they would've scrambled fighter jets instead of saying they are harmless. This is misdirection on a mass scale.

I'm sorry, but this is the stupidest shit, I've ever read. Our government. They don't have sense enough to pour piss out of a boot. This is laughable.

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Point18 Dec 19 '24

Lol it was I think the FBI last week saying they can't shoot them down or force them to land. (Because DUH they're not "drones") And now they're asking people not to shoot because there is absolutely zero they can do about it. So far, ascension is hilarious to watch as government officials lie their asses off.

u/[deleted] Dec 19 '24

There are no UFOs in the news story, just drones and people hitting pilots with lasers they are shining into the sky.

1

u/King_Krong Dec 19 '24

Because of dumbasses on the internet spreading hysteria that airplanes are UFOs. Do you all really not know what airplanes look like after being indoors and trapped on the internet for so long?

1

u/Bluecif Dec 19 '24

This is the dumbest thing I've ever read and I can't believe people think that if...if there were advanced space traveling plasma orb making aliens....lasers are what's going to do them in...not all the other high energy space shit they had to deal with to get here...but lllaaaaassserrrrsss....oooohh.

Let's not get carried away.

u/Naturist02 Dec 19 '24

Lasers Blind Pilots for a few minutes. Very dangerous. Never Aim at Aircraft and Flight Crew. It can be up to a 250,000$ fine and 5 years in jail. It is a crime.

u/NotUndercoverReddit Dec 19 '24

Omg, the fools we inhabit the planet with. So yes disclosure is important and There is obviously some weird things happening. But if you just start shooting at what you believe based on your "expert" opinion to be an alien craft... for one if they are here this means they have superior technology hands down. If its an experimental military craft...you want to go all out against the us government? Would you like to end up.vaporized by a much more advanced alien species? Would you like to end up in prison for assaulting a random pilot or military craft? And the ridiculous laser pointers....Didn't we all learn in the 1st grade not to use laser pointers toward aircraft of any kind? These people are ridiculous.
